im kinda partial to the B&M sport shifter, but it doesnt lower the height of the shifter....one of the other guys in our club has a TWM shifter and it sits pretty low, but check em out @ http://www.twmperformance.../sciontcshortshifters.htm

I have the Dr. Isotope one. I like it a lot and it feels great! I'll snap a pic when I get home tonight. It's a 2" shorter rod with his 0.6" riser bushings, so it sits 1.5" lower than OEM.

I can't get the pics to display properly, but here are a straight on shot in N, a side shot in N, straight on in 3rd and straight on in 4th. That should give you an idea of how the Dr. I SS is. I told him to make me his standard unit. I figured that one has the sizes that he did all of the calculations for. Also, I haven't upgraded my shift knob or boot yet.

I have a Doc I short shifter too. With a 2" height reduction. I like it alot but it can be alittle stiff if you dont think about it. Like everyone else says if you're on top of everything the stiffness isnt that big a deal.

there are a lot of choices out there. i went with twm performance 3 years ago and still working great!! from what i know all the short shifters will be a little stiffer but the throw will be less. recently been trying to find ways to improve it but couldn't find much. i added some new cable bushings which slightly helped since i've had my car for almost 4 years. u can go with dr. isotope, twm, b&m, megan, and on..

Here's my twm shortshifter stage 2 + skunk2 shift knob

Doctor Isotope FTW! You can get the whole cage fully assembled with all the weak parts upgraded, and choose your shift height and throw reduction. Can't beat his shifters.

go the easy route Crystal and have Doc do the whole cage, then you just pop it in and you're done.

^^Exactly. Easiest install and great quality. He upgrades some of the components in the cage that you would not get in another kit to ensure lasting quality, and he also provides cable bushings to tighten up your shifting. He sells the most complete kit on the market and its basically just plug and play.

He makes them out of the stock cages. That's why he needs yours as a core.

You get to choose the height reduction. Its from 0" to 3". Basically the 0" would be similar to the TRD shifter like I have. It would be the same height as stock with a throw reduction due to the height increase on the cage itself. Just keep in mind, the more height reduction, the more force required to shift gears due to changing the leverage against the fulcrum.

Cool. Looking forward to seeing it installed

I'm thinking about upgrading my TRD to one of his, but I can't figure out if I should just get the shifter since I already have a modified cage, get the full shabang (that's my word of the week  ), or get the lazy boy and just deal with its madness...

The TRD looked really appealing to me but once he compared other shifters to me than that one won me over, i just hope i like it, im sure this short shifter will improve my racing skills
Shabang lmao

most of the shifters listed are great. i hear a lot of good stuff from dr. isotope so props to him! unfortunately the tc doesn't have a hydraulic assist system like honda otherwise we wouldn't even care as much about short shifters. drive an rsx or s2000 and u'll know what i mean =)
