dhowton Reg'd: Jan 10, 2008 Detailer	I just installed my short shifter and Im trying to put the boot back on but I cant put the boot back on and still use my shifter knob. I got a 2 inch height reduction and with the collar on and the shift boot on there isnt enough room to get the stock shifter knob to screw back on. I need any advice possible please. I need to get this done so I can get to work.

FrAnkRYzzO Reg'd: Oct 21, 2005 $upervillain for Hire	I think the boot won't slide down far enough because of the collar after the reduction. Just pull the collar off for the time being and you may have to customize it when you have more time. Turn the collar inside out and there is a little ring holding the leather to it. Just take that off and then you're good to go. Its a temp fix but it won't interfere with your driving. ............... Donate or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE!

dhowton Reg'd: Jan 10, 2008 Detailer	Yeah the shifter knob is to deep with the reduction I think with the silver boot ring it wont go down deep enough to screw on. Does that make sense?

dhowton Reg'd: Jan 10, 2008 Detailer	I dont know I like the idea of turning the collar upside down. I may try that. Also It is a really stiff throw right now and I know some of that may be because Im not using a weighted knonb but will it get alittle smoother after like a break in period?

A weighted shift knob should help with that though.
