THANX IN ADVANCE FOR HELPING.

Ok, a stock 160 watt system doesn't sound like its going to be very loud, I have a 260 watt in my honda element. I was wondering if there was a speaker upgrade option on the tc (saw better head unit but no speakers) from the factory and if i did upgrade how much louder would it be? If i cant upgrade how from the factory, how many watts can u put in the doors with the standard head unit. Also, can you add an amp and 2 10s with the standard head unit.

No the standard unit doesnt have rca outputs. You would need the upgraded headunit. And the upgraded headunit can handle alot. Thats what Im using right now and Im also using a 500 watt amp aswell.

You can upgrade the speakers and add as many subs as you'd like with the stock headunit. You'll just need to get a line out converter to produce rca inputs.

There's no reason to upgrade the speakers if you don't get an amp to power them, and I'd still recommend a new receiver if you want decent sound quality.

franyryzzo is right you could put in a line converter but it would better and maybe cheaper to put in an aftermarket head unit. the problem with using the stock head unit is it wont sound a clean or as well as an aftermarket head unit. if need help let me know

Try holding the SSP Button until you hear a beep then try the "xA and xB" modes the headunit is set to "tC" fromt he factory assuming you have a factory headunit. I think the xA mode sounds best.

depends on what kind of money you want to spend, if you want a double din head unit, single, or flip out, i would highly recommend eather a clarion, or an alpine. as for subs, i would go with, alpine type R's, Treo, clarion, directed and diamonds. door speakers, you dont really need to change them if you put an amp to them, i keep mine in until i blew them up lasted 1 yr. amps, would go with alpine, directed, clarion, and if you have the money arc audio, which i think are the best hands down. heres a link to my sponsors / friends web site....http://www.tunetimestereo.com/

I'm currently running the stock headunit and speakers with a 12" solobaric L7 powered by a 1200w kenwood excelon mono class d. For the price, you can't get a better sub then an L7. Response is very crisp and clear in a sealed box. Got the sub and amp from etronics.com for about 450 together.

I have a set of CDT audiophile grade midrange and tweeters that are going in the doors. (purchased from exigeaudio on SL) I just ordered an alpine PDX 2.150 to power the component speakers. 225 on ikesound.com

I also just ordered a Pioneer FH-P8000BT headunit. Its double din, has built in bluetooth and a USB port. It also has 4v preamp outs and you can turn off the internal amp for true sound quality. Got it for 230 on ikesound.com. If you don't care about dvd and navigation then this headunit is ridiculous for that price.

Good places to bargain shop for quality stereo equipment are sonicelectronix.com and ikesound.com.

Im gonna have to lean more towards the Alpine Type-Rs. I have 2 Type-Rs in my car, and I hit the 130 decibal range when pushed by a 2400 watt amp. As far as replacing the factory speakers, you can never go wrong with an Infinity product. Kappa perfects are their best model, however the Reference series is friggin awesome too, and a lot cheaper.

sorry to burst your bubble bro, but for that price, you might not find anything, and if you do it will sound like crap, trust me, you would be better off buying your system in pieces, until you get what you desire, otherwise you'll hate it and have just wasted $600. it took me a year to build mine up before i put it all in.

a good deal is simply perception, I'd take the advice from the guys that have done it all to their car.

I'm taking notes as well

I would say check out www.sonicelectronix.com. From what I have seen, they have the best prices online as far as licensed product dealers go. Do yourself a favor and hook the system up right the first time. I cant count the times that I have slowly upgraded and how much money I have wasted.
