It depends on the specs of the wheels. Width, offset, tire size. Various factors. You can go as low as you want as long as these are right.

I would suggest using coilovers. I have 18's and it comes really close to rubbing with a 2" drop.

^^ It's all about the offset. Coilovers don't affect the rubbing issue. They only allow you to set your ride height. Even if you had coils, if your offset relative to your wheel width is off then you will rub regardless. He needs to post the specs of the wheels he wants in order for anyone to tell him how much he can drop. I'm dropped 2.75" front and 2.65" rear on 18x8+35 and 18x9+35 with 225/40 and 235/40 tire respectively. Zero rubbing

Get the drop you like and the wheels you like. Just make sure your wheels are the correct offset for your drop. Like don't run a +20 19x9 rim on an stech drop. For the 19" rims, I'd be best to go with a TRD drop or something subtle like that so that it's easier to choose rims.

i would go with the coilovers...only because u can adjust the height to however u think looks best.....if u get springs and u put them on over ur stok struts, evenually they will blow.jus giv it a couple of months,to much stress is put into them.so i think in the long run, coilovers come out to be cheaper even thoug they run for $1000 or more.lol.im gettin coilovers for mine 2.i dont like the springs i hav on..if u get 19" rims, its fine as long as u dont get wider or bigger tires....i would recommend a 19X8 all around....like that u wont rub and ull still get that wider more aggressive look...its gonna look badass..yo so wat rims u got in mind?

Thank you Steph

i ran into this problem too a year ago. if you see some rims you love then you can adjust accordingly. but if you want a nice low ride then you can just find some 18's. remember that your rims will appear bigger with a drop.

It really depends on the drop. Even on an stechs drop, which is extremely low, people have gotten 30k+ miles on them. Coilovers aren't right for everyone. If you're just gonna set and forget then just get springs. If you're gonna tweak and play with settings like dampening and rebound then coils would be the better choice.

It all depends on how you drive.. If you're careful with potholes and go slow over speed bumps you can squeaze a good 3 years out of your stock shocks before they blow. Mine are only now starting to get soft after 3 years and 30k miles of being slammed on s-techs. So yea.. I'm in the process of either just getting TRD or Tokico shocks or upgrading completely to coil-overs.

Vicious, you gotta ride dirty like me! Coilovers baby! I'm kissing the lip now but here's a teaser before I post up pics on Friday after I finish everything. 18x9 +35 on a 235/40 tire

Dude that looks sick! Can your wheels even turn with your car slammed that low?

Coilovers. And I like this shot. Show's off the wheel gap nicely!
