 Just didnt see any forums about these.. i know i heard it or read it before.. and since one of the guys that was in my meet.. said that my stechs are lower then his.. just clicked in my head that it might be some knock offs. so i was lookin for a forum bout these knock offs.. but couldnt find any. so heres a lil artical.. that i just found..thought of sharing it.. just in case new tc or other cars are planning to buy some STECHS..

Recently, We have confirmed that some of the eBay stores are guilty of selling counterfeit TEIN S-Tech springs.

To assure authenticity of any TEIN product, PLEASE make your purchases only through a TEIN Authorized Dealer. To locate a TEIN Authorized Dealer near you, please click here.

TEIN would like to inform you of the differences between the counterfeit TEIN S-Tech springs and the Authentic S-Tech.

Difficult-to-tell counterfeit S-Tech springs are being heavily marketed.
Such replicas may be of bad quality and extremely dangerous. The

NO precise lowering spec.
Unknown quality, which may lead to sagging, rust, cracking and noise issues
Unknown Engineering Data
Extremely dangerous and can lead to suspension failure

TEIN S-Tech Springs - Authentic vs. Counterfeit

Point 1: Outer Box - Prints




* Letters ‘STYLISH SPEC’ on fake one are thinner and darker in color than genuine one.

Point 2: Outer Box - Product Label



* Fake label is bigger than the frame printed on the box thus is going over the line.
* Fonts used on the label is thinner and the print is light.

Point 3: Protuct - Part & Lot Number



* Genuine S.Tech has both part number and lot number printed parallel to the coil itself, while fake one has them parallel to the ground (meaning at an angle to the coil).
* Also, the fake one has bolder letters.

Point 4: Product - Logo



* Fake one has a ‘TEIN’ logo sticker. The real S.Tech should have it directly printed on.

Point 5:



* Different designs illustrate a difference in engineering data; therefore, the products quality specs and MOST IMPORTANT your SAFETY is left

 As was stated this has been discussed before, but this is a great breakdown of how to spot the counterfeits. IS this issue still prevalent? Tein's response is from 2006. I didn't realize these were still floating around.

well the last post was in june 2007and i just finally got back to the states from japan.. haha. and i guess i was using the wrong words for the search.. but thanks.. oh and the link on that old one doesnt work anymore.. so i guess its time for a lil update.. again sorry for the crappy postin..

 ^ Im sure some people will be trying to sell their fake springs when they realize they are fake. And that will likely persist for a while because people sell used springs all the time, even years after they have had them.

 ^ yeah thats true.. hey it only clicked when we had our last meet that one of the tc's said that he has stech and andy showed that mine were riding on stechs that mine is lower then his.. so now hes gonna go check it out... so then i thought of searchin for the forum. but couldnt find it.. and just reposted another one.. since the other one was posted before i knew this website existed. haha.. but any time..
