Thinking about buying stock subwoofer, Does it sound good?

 I am interesting in purchasing a used stock subwoofer (Bazooka I think), Does this produce a nice thump in the scion or is it one that is hardly noticeable. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, also does anyone know for sure if it has an amp built in or not? Thanks

 Most Bazooka do have built in amp. Depends on what you consider "good bass". I dont think they are enough, but i have 2 P2 Fosgates and wouldnt want anything less. If you are just looking for a little something its better than just stock speakers. The Sub you can get from the dealer is great on saving space in Trunk!

 i got the upgrade in my 08....the sub and i like it....its nothin like an alpine or anythinbut it doesnt sound horrible

 i had the bazooka in my 06 scion. I think it sounded fine if you like to hear a good bump, but for a mind numbing blast go big or go home and upgrade. lol

 It is definatly worth it when you Dont pay 500 bucks for it thats why i got mine brand new for only 170 bucks =]. Im not the type that like to blow my doors off. The great part about this sub is you can only hear the full bass when your sitting inside the car. and when your outside the car you cant hear nearly as good as the inside.. why is this good?? because D!CK cops wont pull you over just to meet their quota to give you a ticket for blasting your speakers to loud. IN my opinion this sub sounds extremly good i cant even put it the bass up to 5 because it bumps so loud! i only have it at 2 and it sounds amazing. I am so glad i got this sub for 170 and got it installed for only 70 bucks. It is extremely worth it take my word for it. heres the link where i bought it..Sonic Electronix..Enjoy!

 A question like this is so relative to ones personal opinion that it is almost not worth asking.
me personally, I think its a pile of crap and wouldnt waste the space in my trunk for one. But that doesnt make me right. I like ALOT of base, I want to feel and hear it all. And listening to the stock sub, I dont find it to be much better than just the stock speakers if tuned nicely with a nice headunit.

I say determine what you want, then listen to some systems. If you want ANYTHING like you have ever heard at an audio store/circuit city or whatever, then the stock sub is not for you. It will sound nothing like any aftermarket sub out there for sale.
(well it might sound as good as a walmart 10inch with a walmart amp. What is the walmart brand again??)

 Thanks for all the posts about it, I am just looking for a little bump that the door speakers are just not producing. I do have 2 kicker solo barics and kicker amp in my suv that thump hard, but this I am thinking about space mainly and I like the fit of the stock sub, but just wanted to know if you could hear it over the other speakers or not. It sounds like a good upgrade over stock for minimal bump, just enough to hear a difference. Again thank you all!
