no complaint here i was just doing my part as one of your many inhabitants and makeing sure your aware of all things that go on in YOUR site. is this also the reason the profile is acting up? everthing was just blotted on the page there were no "text boxes", just everything was left of center

I don't know if this has been happening to anyone else, but lately (past 2-3 days) I've been noticing that in some topics, the actual posts get shifted waaaaaaaaaay down so I have to scroll down to read 'em.

See:

I'm using IE6 still, but that shouldn't make a difference.

This would make a difference. Try clearing your browser cache. If this doesn't work, I'll see to trying to fix stuff.

I figured you'd say that. I did it and it seems to be working so far..

Edit - spoke too soon. Happened right after I posted this.

The reasoning for this is due to the large images people are posting. A lot of these damn signatures people are using are larger than the entire page, and takes a while for them to get loaded to get autoresized by the browser.

The new forums should be up soon and resolve this issue.

Thanks. Yeah I did think it had something to do with images.

Some of the subforums aren't bumping new posts to the top of the front page. The sales forum in particular is having this issue. When you bump a sales post, it goes to the top of the recent post page, and it shows as the last post on the outside of the forum on the forum menu page, but then when you open the forum there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to what is determining the order of the sales threads. Not sure if this is due to the recent changes or not...

edit n/m it is a particular thread that isn't bumping. I'll PM it to you.

Fixed. Seemed like the index on post date decided to crap itself. Removed the index so things should order correctly.

Not sure if this is localized to IE6 or just my profile, but when i enter the site the forums all work fine, but when I try to load my profile page it gets into the comments and then slows to a crawl. Trying to reload the page or link out to recent posts, or even another website for that matter, just sits and hangs. The only thing I've gotten to load afetr the freeze is google, and that takes about 4 minutes.

I've shut down the browser, cleared the cache, logged out of the site, and restarted the computer. Still keeps doing it...

^^Well, they're new if you don't have one yet...

As for my issue listed above with profile loading issues, I think I fixed it. It seems like there was a picture link in my comments that wasn't loading correctly. I deleted the comment and it seems to be working normally again.

Is the *NEW* message broken or something? If I am not mistaken, this thread is about things that are broken.

Just a suggestion - can you maybe move that "logout" link when you're on the forums page? You know where it says:

Your Forum Options | Subscriptions | Logout
Thread activity since last visit | Latest Thread Activity

I always click "Latest thread activity" and i do it quickly so sometimes I miss and click "logout". Not a big deal but I mean really - do we need 3 logout links? There's one on the user menu to the left, one at the top of the screen... why another on the forum page? I clicked that 3x already in 2 days

Not sure if this is could be an IE6 issue, but when you post a quote, sometimes if you use a [] code, it elimates carriage returns.

Example:

I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation of the world for the next four years.

I think if you are in the passing lane, and not passing, your license should be revoked, and you should be forced to ride the bus until you promise to never delay the rest of us again.

ends up like this:

Quote:
I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation of the world for the next four years.

I think if you are in the passing lane, and not passing, your license should be revoked, and you should be forced to ride the bus until you promise to never delay the rest of us again.

edit:lol, and it seems like
tags don't resize to the page...

SqMK, did you see the issue I posted above with the carriage return deletion?
