So I was wanting to know if anyone has spotted a tC in a movie or tv show. I saw one just a second ago and it was very cool. More in a little but first I want to say:
I did a brief search in the forums and didn't see a running list of sightings. Maybe its here somewhere but didn't find it in 10 minutes. This was the closest match.
Alright. So I picked up a show DVD, Weeds S1. I thought it was fantastic so I got S2. Then that was over and I downloaded season 3. Season 3 Episode 8 exactly 24 minutes in, there is MY car. Who cares right? There are tens of thousands of tC's in the USA, right? Well it's my exact car and there are only 2500 in the world, two dozen of which I know for a fact are crashed/wrecked. I can't help but wonder if that was just a car parked where they were shooting that day or if it belonged to someone and was placed there. Do they have car extras like they do people? Either way its pretty cool to have a relatively rare car and see one just like it passing you on the highway, we all have felt that way about something. Well I think it was even more cool to see it in a movie or great piece of tv. If I knew how I would capture a still and post it. Maybe someone out there could put one up or tell me how to.
I think I saw a tC in the preview for "Never Back Down" so if you're one of the dozens of people who will ever see this movie, pay close attention during the movie, then after it's over you should umm... die. Harsh but true, you're a tool if you see that movie or any street dancing, drag racing, kickboxing, flavor of the hour movie.
But yeah, Weeds from Showtime Originals, really good show, good writing.
Finally, please know that the things *you* say and that *I* read will be respected-- even when you and I disagree. I ask that you give myself and others the same courtesy. I don't care if you thought Never Back Down was awesome and totally worth seeing on opening night. I am thrilled that you like things, but my calling someone (a Hypothetical someone mind you) a tool isn't cause for banishment. Whats the point? If you can read things that offend you without trying to change the writer's mind about how wrong he or she is, only then do you know the true meaning of freedom. Flame on!

I can't say I've seen a tC in a movie.
On the subject of Never Back Down, isn't that a Fast & Furious of fight movies? lol

Just because you said there might be a tC in it, I'm going to have to see that movie. I'll let you know in a day or two if I saw one in the actual movie.

Sometimes when you see a car in a movie, its just random that it happened to be in the right place at the right time, but if its something that the characters interact with, its either a specific vehicle needed for the script/requested by the director, or its given to the producers by the car company to be indirect promotion. Look at the freeway scene in the 2nd Matrix movie. Every single vehicle is a GM product. No coincidence. Same with Transformers.
Good post. I'll keep my eyes out for tC's on the big and little screens, and post up any I come across

I should say that it MAY have been a tC. Silver. A young woman in the passenger seat. It's a big risk for my taste. I mean, that's two hours you'll never get back.

Just like Frankryzzo said, cars showing up in movies are no coincidence. Scion has always been a sponsor of "Ultimate Fighting" in the early days, so having a Scion product show in Never Back Down wasn't an accident.
I'm working at Wachovia in Athens GA and this dude walks out of a 05 Scion xB and he's like 6'2, with cauliflower ears. I had no idea who the guy was until later because I wasn't an avid fan of Ultimate Fighting at that time, but it was Forest Griffin. He drives around town in the xB he won. Hell, if it was free I'd drive around in it too.

i saw a tC in an episode of smallville and there was a tire guy who worked at unique autosports (show is called unique whips FYI) who drove one. neither of which were hooked up.

i forgot what the movie was called but its a documentary about this rapper who goes to skid row and live as a bum there for like 3 days. he had to have hidden cameras on him and he had a crew in a van follow and film him from far away.. but sometimes they get to close and all the crazy drug addicts get suspicious.. well the crew in the van was driving and filming a quick scene of skid row and out of no where a tc pulls up in the picture and im like HEY THATS A TC!! even though it wasnt meant for the movie it was still cool to see a tc.

If youve ever seen I AM LEGEND there is one thats crashed ...i recognized it by the rims and quarterpanel and tailights....I dont remember exactly where but its when Will Smith is cruising around in that Mustang....

I just saw I Am Legend about 4 days ago, now I have to watch it again. Mixed feelings about that. I torrent'd it so I never saw this second ending.
