I am looking at purchasing the tein ss coil over kit but I am curious who has had to install a camber kit in order to still get proper tire wear out of the car and is there on made for the front also I have only seen the hotchkis one for the rear camber links.

anything lower than the TRD springs will need the camber kit... I installed Goldlines and need them because of the negative camber in the rear.

So it sounds like any lower then the TRD springs needs a camber kit then but is it only for the rear or was the front able to be adjusted with factory adjustments WaterDragon?

well, I have yet to personally check my fronts, but they feel fine... and no one I-ve talked to has had to even adjust their fronts. The rears are noticably off... I-ll check to see if I can find a good pic of my car to show what it looks like, seeing as I still don-t have my car/camera back to take a recent photo

I am sittin on 20- shoes with a 1.2- Eibach drop. The tires are so expensive (225/30R20 BFG KDWII) that I want to be as close to spec as possible. I was close but still a few degrees out front and rear. I have found a Specialty Product-s Camber kit for the front, part # 81290, that will give +/- 1.75 degrees of adjustment but have not found anything to help with the rear camber adjustment. Can anyone help? ThanksMy tC:https://home.comcast.net/~greddo42/stuff/scionlow.jpg

Macpherson strut front suspension setups have almost non-existant camber curves, so I doubt you-re gaining very much camber in the front even with a big drop. -1 degree at the most. What lots of you guys don-t realize is that a bit of negative camber in the front will actually improve your handling because it helps the tire keep a larger contact patch with the road during spirited cornering. The main thing that you have to be concerned about is toe. Toe kills tires, not camber. I run my car at -1.6 camber in the front with zero toe and get even tire wear because my spirited cornering evens out the wear.I don-t know what kind of suspension setup you guys have in the rear, but I can tell you that in the front, as long as your toe and cross-toe are zero, you should be alright. What camber specs are you getting in front with the Tein SS? The Teins for the Matrix seem to have alot of negative camber (over -2.0) built into the damper geometry. In this case, I would recommend reducing the camber. Do any of you have access to a TC repair manual? For my car, and other Toyotas, Toyota makes these special adjustment bolts for the bottom of the front struts that are slightly thinner than stock and allow for camber adjustment. They-re only a few bucks at the dealership. It-s another alternative to spending $30+ on some overpriced cam bolts.

Thanks for looking. I did find those and have them on the way. Just so everyone knows 81290 is a Specialty Products Corporation part number. www.specprod.com Just two camber bolts don-t pay too much from a second or third party. It was not made for the tC actually the cars below just happens to be the right size. 17mm. Looking at the list of cars you might find these at your local tire shop collecting dust on the back shelf. Bet they-ll give em to ya cheap. Found mine sittin in a warehouse back east. Been there 8-12 months lol... Check the link below for specific info on install. APPLICATIONS:Lexus: ES250, ES300, Toyota: Avalon, Camry, Celica, Previa, Sienna.http://www.specprod.com/PROD_DIR/PROD_PASSCAR.HTML

Yeah toe is what really kills very true! But negative camber makes your tires wear on the inside edges right??. I just want to be within manufactures spec. of which I am not far from achieving. I could probably leave it and get decent mileage out of the tires. But at $400 a piece i-ll do whatever I can within reason. When I went to align my tC after lowering it, the machine I went to use didn-t have the specs for the car in it-s computer so I ran it as a celica and have obtained a copy of our alignment specs out of the shop manual the dealer uses but not the whole book. I need to scan it still but should have on here soon.

Good shit... I have the right specs now and am going to recheck it tomorrow. I have the Specialties Products kit for the front if needed. If perhaps the rear needs a camber adjustment or anyone is looking for more adjustment. McGeorge has these.

You can order it from this site or give -em a call. I ordered Volume 2 for basic repairs. Volume 1 according to Lobux from yoursciontc is more for troubleshooting.http://smg.toyotapartsand...ON%20TC&year=2005

the hotchkis are way too expensive. I dont want to pay to correct my suspension upgrade that cost even more than the springs.

Hey I got the H&R front camber kit and rear hotchkis kit for 245 together. The kit is worth the money because not I have + or - 3 degrees of adjustment to fine tune my suspension handling.
