Figured I'd share this with ya'll. I just added myself to a groupbuy on Sl for a set of CDT speakers with tweeters. Here's the link:

These speakers are amazing, and the actual price shipped is less then half of what he shows as retail. If you've been thinking about upgrading the stock speakers, you can't get a better deal then this.

They are doing some updating to their website or something, so I have requested the specs from the seller. I'll post them once he sends them to me.

^^definitely

They wouldn't sound all that great running off a headunit. Ideally, you would be running a headunit with no internal amp, and at least 5 volts of output. Makes me tingle just thinking about it

My speakers shipped out yesterday, and I'm sitting here about as anxious as a nun in a cuccumber patch. I got my eDead and baffles from Elemental a few days ago, so it looks like the interior is getting ripped out this weekend.

Drip, drip, drop.. there goes an eargasm

The group buy ended 3/22, and I think the link has gone away. The SL vendor is exigeaudio.

Here's the new thread: http://www.scionlife.com/...&highlight=exigeaudio

Enjoy

These are strictly mid ranges. I'll be filtering out all lows with the crossover and just use my sub. I got an alpine PDX 2.150 to power them and my intention is make my ears bleed!

Hmmm ... tough call .... I still have to build up my system. Do you think these speakers would be happy powered from my Phoenix Gold Tantrum??? It delivers a super clean 75W RMS. I used it to power the entry level MB components on my last car .... I love my amp! Stable to 1 Ohm in stereo with 4 channels!!!

I killed my Alpine V12 sub amp, so I need to get a sub amp .... also, I think I'm going to get a new sub or 2 or 3 ..... I may have some 12's for sale in the near future!

^^That's a good question. That phoenix will only give them about half of the RMS. I don't think they would sound bad, you just wouldn't be getting their full potential. I personally will probably have them tuned down, I just like having the option to go all out when I want to.
