I found a decent spot in my school parking lot about a week back, next to some 1st gen. Integra. Two girls are sitting in it, supposedly waiting for class to start, and when the driver finally gets around to leaving, she opens up her door right into my car. I-m inside getting ready to take a 30 minute nap and I hear a dulled slam. I look over to see the girl rushing to close her door. Real stealthy. I got out, examined, and there was nothing there. Real convenient, considering the car was roughly 14 days old at that time. The chick apologized and whatnot, and I was just irritated, but hugely relieved.Anyway, ever since, I have been REAL paranoid about how close I park to other cars and visa versa. The paint on my hood is majorly swirled, there-s a cat scratch in it, and a few more minor scratches have developed out of nowhere on random portions of my car. It makes me want to point a gun and fire. Problem is, I don-t have one, and I wouldn-t know where to start. My rear passenger-side window is scratched up, too. Noticed it after the ting was put on, so I went back in and had the guy redo it; wasn-t on the tint, and he showed me the razor they used, and how they used it; there-s no way it chould cause a scratch like that. There are a couple, and I think it was either the factory or the dealership, but I only saw it after the tint provided some contrast against the occassional sun.It-s irritating when you have a brand new car and there-s now way to keep it safe from this sort of crap. Please share similar tales of woe.

I went in to the dealer today to have them look at the radio cover anyway the guy looked over the car and made a mark on the sheet, I made some offhand remark how the car was less than a week old and how it shouldn-t have any marks. -oh you have a scratch on the pass side door-I tore off around to the other side and sure enough, It can be buffed out and to be honest most people wouldn-t notice it, but I know it-s there( my cars not new anymore ) Oh ignorance is bliss.

So far I have 2 Luckily both of them are on the underside of my body kit. No one can see them, but i sure know that they are there The first one was the 2nd day that I had the car. Backing out of my friends driveway right on top of a rock landscaped hill :. Put a nice 3 inch scrape on the underside of the rear piece of the body kit. Today, I was pulling out of a driveway and caught the underside of the front piece, this was about 1/2 inch scrape but man it sux!!!

I know what you mean. When I bought my 2002 Accord Coupe V6, it got dinged a couple of times. It-s a black car and the dings are more noticable than any other color. If you-re a lazy person and don-t maintain the exterior(weekly wash, monthly wax and such), don-t get a black car. Black is a bitch to keep clean. The shine that it has when it was new is still there. When I buy my tC, it will be Silver. If you must buy black, don-t park next to SUVs and trucks. During my last two years of college when I finally learned the downsides of owning a black car, I park it way in the back and keep it isolated. I wasn-t the only one doing this. Frequently, I would be seeing shiney $20,000+ cars parked by itself in the back of the lot somewhere and I say to myself, -Oh yeah...Whoever drives that car knows how to take care of it. They know it-s hot-.

College parking is horrible. What-s worse is when someone decides to graze the right corner of your rear bumber, taking off all the paint, and cracking the tail light. Top it off with no sign of a note... not even to say sorry. Damn. No decency.

I usually do most of the damage to my car which I think is worse than when someone else does it. The first scratch was on the drivers door when the car was delivered. It was in the body shop for 3 days. The dealer paid for it since it was damaged on the truck. I had my car parked in the garage and I was raking in front of the garage. I turned when I heard a noise behind me with the rake still in my hand. I put a small scratch on the back bumper. I got behind a big truck and there are 3 small chips in the paint on the right front. The worst of all these happened a week ago. My girlfriend parked at my house so we could go get some dinner. I wasn-t thinking when I backed out of the garage and backed right into her car. $500 later, the car looks almost like new.

Yesterday my dad was backing the car out of the driveway between his truck and my moms van. I told him there wasn-t enough space, but he said there was, and sure enough he scratched the back just below the tail light on the retaining wall. Its about an inch long and 1/8 of an inch wide and it drives me insane every time i see it.As for inconsiderate drivers, i commute to college and have to park in a parking deck. Anyways, one morning i was stopped waiting for someone to back out and this chick in a red mustang round the corner and slams into the back of me. Fortunatley this was in a mitsubishi montero, but i was still pissed. But instead of getting out to look at the damage she jumps into reverse, spins around, and drives off . Luckily that tire sticking off the back stopped most of the damage to my car and put a big dent in her hood... Ironically that tire also blocked my view of her liscence plate so i only got the first 3 letters of and the cops couldn-t do anything.

Wow, that-s freakin- unbelievable. I can-t believe people actually get away with that shit on a regular basis. Seriously, though, college parking is a brutal. I hate having to find it, and when I do, I just dread what could happen.

I-d post but, it-s just too painful. I cross my fingers and bite my tongue every time I wash it or just inspect the paint.

That-s the way I am too, inspecting every inch as I go along. So far, I-ve had my car for 10months and no dings or scratches, I do however have the slightest rock chip in the front bumper.

New tale of woe:I got my TRD springs in (hooray!) and installed them with a few friends of mine. I decided, hey, since the wheels are off, why not paint the brake calipers? So I went to AutoZone, picked up some brake cleaner and red engine enamel, and in my free time, covered the rotors and painted the calipers. Turned out great, but at some point, my friend was showing me how to do it and accidentally missprayed. I didn-t notice it until I washed my car today, but the paint stuck in a small mist to the bumper, right in front of the wheel well. Not really bad, but noticable if you-re looking at it. Actually looks like it-s just lit up red until you get close.Any idea if touch-up paint will hide it? Any other suggestions?

I got a scratch right above the keyhole on the driver side door from god knows where. And some dick opened their door into the rear quarter panel and left a little dent and a spot on silver. RIGHT after i washed the car a @#$%ing bird dropped a load onto the hood which was about 3 inches in diameter...

Do you have one of those protective bubbles flint? you-re insanely lucky. Not lucky, I will park 1/2 mile away, and walk rather than park next to someone. I also don-t drive as much as most, I live downtown so I walk alot and I-m only about 2.5 miles from work, where I practically have an empty lot to park in.

Same here. No one is ever parked next to me while I-m at school or work. And I always park in the back of the lot as well. But scratches still happen. Road debris I guess. Although family members are the cause of most of mine. Which REALLY sucks because, what am I supposed to do about it? It-s gotten to the point where I have to lay a beach towel over the side of my car to park in my garage. All they do is rest their car doors on mine, no matter what I say.........

That-s HARSH, dude... that-s not from any shopping cart, that-s for sure. Trust me, I work with those things (which keeps me in the loop when one happens to wander near my car), and admitedly, if some complete ass parks like a freakin- idiot, I-ll -accidentally- hit their car with them. Never does a thing.

I got a little story of dings and scratches...there must be some hater living around me because of the following1. the 3rd week I had my car it got keyed 2 scratches to the metal under the keyhole of the passenger door2. about 3 weeks after the first incident got keyed again on the passenger door this time it-s 3 vertical scratches next to the side mirror3. About 2 weeks after that...My driver side door was hit with one of those heavy duty plastic black garbage bins at least 3 times...thankfully no scratches but left black marks from the bin which did wash off4. About 3 weeks ago someone kicked my passenger side quater panel leaving a nice shoe print and dent

That really sucks. Three words: Viper Responder Alarm. It-ll page you whenever someone/something hits your car. I got my Viper 690XV from HookedOnTronics.com for under $200. I guess by the time you get the page, it-ll probably be too late, but if it-s a person, you could make them pay for the damages.

I bet my story will top most that people will have.... i picked up my tc about 2 1/2 weeks ago... as im pulling intot he dealer i see my car sitting right in front. I cant wait to get my new car and go back to work and show it off a bit. As im looking at the car before even signing paperwork, i found a scratch about 3" long on the front bumper, clearly visible. So i flip out first thing in the door on how they scratched my car before i even picked it up and didnt bother to fix it. Then i get everything straightened out and i get in the inside, scuff marks on the door panels... wiped right out. Then i find out 2 days later from a friend at work who went and bought a car said my car was in the showroom the day before i picked it up and there were people sitting in it... now im pissed, i go back to get the scratch fixed... the assholes put touchup paint and it was the wrong color too!
now im real pissed, and it gets worse.. after looking at the front of the car so long, i saw the touchup guy must have dropped something, cause there is a gash in my lower portion of the front bumper.. im taking the car to MY body shop and the dealer is picking up the bill... cause touch up paint on a brand new car is not going to fly with me.
