Hello everyone.

I've been in the scion community for awhile now, but never really got around to posting on this forum board. I've been running nitrous for over a year and a half now and still love it. I have put maybe 20 bottles through my car and haven't had any issues up to this point. I get a lot of help from a local nitrous kit manufacturer with my kit. I guess it could be considered a sponsorship since he gives me almost everything.

The kit that I am running is kind of between a wet kit and a direct port kit. Since I didn't want to drill and tap the stock plastic intake manifold, I decided to drill a tap into a throttle body spacer (which goes between the throttle body and intake manifold). I'm running a 75 shot and it pulls hard. I love it. I don't want to sound like I am advertising for a specific company, but if anyone ever needs nitrous parts, I can sell for much cheaper than it is offered through my sponsors website ny-trex.com. If anyone has questions about nitrous, I'm willing to assist. I have learned a lot about it along the way and don't mind. The best thing I recommend is to do your research... also, do the research from people that use nitrous properly. The stock civic with a 300 shot that blew his motor and the guy who's never used it before are not really the best sources out there.

Thanks

I plan on getting to the track in April.

On my dry 50 shot and 18's I ran 14.1 @ 97

I now have drag radials and a better nitrous setup, so I can't wait to see what it can do.

I have the Ny-trex Triple Threat Wet Kit. Here is a link to it. http://www.ny-trex.com/ca...7b928f0cec3bd1e9f0d722c61

I can get it new for about $650 shipped to your door. It's a full function wet kit with purge, fuel pressure safety switch, and etc.

I haven't dyno'd my car yet. After I break into 13's I will probably get the dyno done. My best guess is 270hp another guy I know runs a similar setup with a bigger shot and dyno'd just under 300hp.

I have nice quote for those who are against N2O and go with turbo or supercharger...

Which is better for your engine NOS or turbo/supercharge

""All 0f the standard performance parts put additional stress on the engine and burn more fuel all the time; not to mention what a pain it is to ride around town with a lumpy idle from a camshaft that is barely streetable.Power on demand is one of the great things about a nitrous system; it only works when the driven wants it. All the rest 0f the time, the engine operates normally; no extra stress, no extra fuel use, and no driveline problems"

nice quote. Power on demand is the greatest aspect.

I drive 60 miles on the interstate round trip for work. It's nice to know that i can drive those 60 miles at 80-85mph without putting constant stress on the car.

Ny-trex is out of Longwood, Florida which is in the Orlando, Florida area.

Installation on a Dry kit is very easy, the basic concept is that you arm the system (flick a toggle switch), press the pedal to the floor (to activate the WOT switch), and hold on. The nitrous sprays into the intake before the MAF. The MAF tell the ECU that colder denser air has entered the intake. The ECU tells the injectors to spray more fuel into the engine. This system is a basic setup and works perfect for a 50 shot.

A wet kit involves more time because you have to tap a fuel line. In a wet setup, the kit is mixing the fuel and nitrous together before spraying it into your car. For example, I have a fuel jet and a nitrous jet that equate to 75 shot. On these applications, you spray after the MAF. Most people will tell you that a wet kit is safer... primarily because you don't have to rely on the computer to supply more fuel. On a wet kit, you can run a higher "shot" of nitrous because of this control. It isn't recommended to go over a 100 shot, but a 75 shot seems to work very well on the scion tc.

I haven't had to replace any parts other than spark plugs. When going to nitrous, you should use plugs that are 2 steps colder. Your local auto store will be able to help you get the right ones. It's good to check your plugs on a regular basis...especially on a dry setup. The plugs will tell you if you are running too rich or too lean. Plugs cost about $1.44 per plug. If you are going through many bottles, buy a couple of sets to have around the garage. Don't worry about buying the $28 plugs, on nitrous applications it is good to change them out every couple of months. So you don't need plugs that are filled with astronaut urine and cost $100 per plug(joke).

tight, iam defantly probboly gunna go with a dry shot just to get into it. what is the difference in the shots? 25, 30 ect i have an injen CAI and i wouldn't mind drilling into it. But also iam just looking to boost myself to 200 horses or a little above i should be running about 170hp right now with all mods.

you can do pretty much any shot you want. The most popular ones are 35, 50, and 75. On a dry shot, I don't recommend going higher than a 50 shot. Check out ny-trex.com. I can get bigger discounts for you there.

I think Zex currently is making an airfilter that you run a line into a connector at the head of it. This seems to be what you are looking for.
