Ok, so I put the StopTech stage 2 kit on my tC and it came with the "low dust" Axxis brake pads. These are anything BUT low dust.

Does anyone else have these pads and if so, are you having the same issue? Did it stop/get worse?

I only have @ 10K miles on the pads and am thinking about changing them out before my wheels are toasted because of brake dust...

Which axxis pads did you get? I have the ultimates, and have not experienced an increase in dust over the stocks. And man do those things bite

wouldn't the type of rotor installed affect how much dust is coming off the pad?

I bet a slotted type would cut into the pad a little more than an OEM rotor.

^^Absolutely. Slotted rotors are continuously resurfacing the pads and will generate more dust. The slots also help to channel the dust away from the rotors, and those slots throw it right at the wheels.

On a side note, axxis pads with slotted rotors may not be the best choice. The axxis ultimate pads I have are extremely harsh, hard pads. They will kill rotors. If I was spending the money on stoptech rotors, I would want a softer pad that will get eaten by the rotors instead of the other way around. Both are wear items, and depending on which cost more, should determine which one you'd rather be replacing more often. One is always going to eat the other.

Ive been using the ultimates on my cars now for a few years. They are definitely not low dust, but they are the best street pads i've tried.

EDIT: One word makes a big difference!

Big brake kits tend to generate more dust too. Running drilled/slotted rotors will also cause more dust because it eats away at the pads and channels the dust away from the rotor.
