what i do is reset my trip meter every time i fill up gas, and i take the millage and divide it by the gallons of gas filled. is that an accurate way to find out my MPG? (i do it around the same time like when i barely have any gas left, and its always around 11.8-12.2 gallons of gas) |

The accuracy of this method has nothing to do with the accuracy of the gas meter. Really, its the accuracy of the gas pump and the odometer. So yeah, it should be decently accurate enough to gauge your driving habits. ![]() "gonna wash my car before i take a nap.. can't rest well knowing i've got the entire cast of A Bug's Life on my bumper" - Vicious -- Want to post a "For Sale" thread? you would NEVER see 50 mpg if you drove 10 mph, defeats the purpose of gears |

well only if you're dumb and drive the whole time in 1st gear. I know of a honda accord that can get 60 mpg based on how he drives. Coasting 18 wheelers at 5 feet with the engine off, taking off ramps at 50 mph, haha ![]() |
