pick up a used megan header. there are a few floating around these and the sl forums. I bought mine used (Megan) and love it. Easy to install, no cel, not to loud, decent welds etc.. you should be able to find one for around 125-175 shipped used....

Yeah, Im overwhelmed by all the info on headers too. But if you ask yourself what you want, you should be able to sift through all the garbage. Lets see if maybe I can help you.

Do you want a 4-1 header? (Where all 4 pipes meet at a single point) From what I hear, its better for high end power and aggressive driving style.

Popular ones are:
DC sport header
Megan
Alphawerks

Or do you want a 4-2-1 header? (where 2 pipes meet as a time, then those two pairs meet at a single point) Apparently this design is better for low end torque.

Popular ones are:
MMW (weapon r)
Tsudo

Then whats you budget? And are you thinking about supercharging?

I have a strup 4-1 header with a short ram and an axleback and I pull on my friend with a full header back exhaust and pulleys. I beat him a few times but it depends on my launch.

edit: This is all from a dig. We haven't tried from a roll yet

Loud and it's raspy. But I'm pretty sure it's because my canister is dented. It sounds clean until you hit ~3k rpms then it just get raspier and raspier.

Strup header is a good 4-1 design. Like every other header, it will give you rasp so laying down a resonator or two will tone it down Intake wise, you could go SR or CAI. Everyone i know here seems to favor the Injen CAI, it has a solid sound. I personally have the Weapon R intake but, there are bad sides to it because it wasn't made too well i admit but, i love the sound of it and it does give you a couple of ponies.

Headers I would suggest(in order):
-Alphawerks
-Strup
-DME
-DC Sports
-MMW

Header I don't suggest:
-Megan (crappy welds)
-Tsudo

As for JVT, has anyone had experience with these? I haven't seen any reviews for this yet.

Ridiculous when it's still cold. Bearable after your exhaust gets warm.
