Well Im gonna buy my first car and my first tC sometime in the next 6 months. I have a few nitrous questions. Old question Wet or Dry? Which is quicker to install, I figure wet would have less of a problem with screwing up my engine(where is adds more fuel instead of just juice). Which is gonna cause less problems? Im not gonna use it every day, probably just once a month or twice. What size shot should i start with? Brand? Ive always been attracted to NX after what i have read about there systems. Thanks!!! ![]() Save P2P ^If you support P2P^ |

Welcome to the site and congrats on your future purchase A wet system is always preferable to a dry system because it decreases the chance of detonation. A lot of people will run a dry kit if its a very small shot like 35 or 50, but anything above 50 should be a wet kit, and I wouldn't recommend a dry kit on any shot. As for the size of the kit, 50-75 will do you fine without creating too much added stress to give you engine problems. A few people are running 100 shots, but I think thats pushing it on stock internals. Lots of poeple run 75 wet shots and I haven't heard of anyone having problems yet. Just do it safe and you should be fine. A window switch and a WOT switch are recommended to minimize user error. As for brands, I'm also a fan of NX, but a lot of people run ZEX. I wasn't a fan of them at first until I did a little research, and so far I like what I've seen. When you're ready shoot ............... ![]() ![]() ![]() Donate or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE! |

Thanks! Later on when i Put Forced Induction on it can I still keep a 50-75 shot?(I will get around to a complete rebuild.) ![]() Save P2P ^If you support P2P^ |

Yeah, going forced induction won't change the delivery method of the nitrous, so the kit will still work, but you want to build the internals completely first or you'll blow up the engine. Goin FI on stock internals is only ok at relatively low boost. Adding nitrous to that will easily push you past the point of no return. ............... ![]() ![]() ![]() Donate or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE! |

Like I said before, if you use nitrous correctly you shouldn't run into a problem. You will add additional wear to your engine and shorten the overall lifespan of the vehicle. Any addition of horsepower will do that though. As for combining nitrous with FI, you can do it, but there's no reason to unless your running some massive turbo that is too slow to spool up. If your heart is set on nitrous then go for it. Just be smart about it. There are lots of people that will endorse just hooking it up to a button and activating it manually, but this is a great way to blow up your engine. Use the safety switches and stay under a 100 shot with stock internals. ............... ![]() ![]() ![]() Donate or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE! |

I think you'll have fun with a 50 shot. Even a 75 isn't really pushing it. If you haven't read this yet then look it over: http://www.clubsciontc.co...55-HOW-NITROUS-WORKS.html There's a lot of good info there and should answer most of your questions. I was planning on putting a 75 wet shot on my tC, but I started this turbo project and suddenly nitrous was no longer an option. Kinda wish I had gotten the kit just so that I had something in there til I'm done. Its taking a lot longer then I expected, but then again, that's what I get for going custom. ............... ![]() ![]() ![]() Donate or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE! |

Word I don't recommend the manual button, especially not for your first nitrous experience. Its a sure fire way to need a new engine. An arming button is fine, but a WOT switch and a window switch help to make the system fool proof. ............... ![]() ![]() ![]() Donate or one of these adorable kittens WILL DIE! |

Yea im getting my tc ready for a zex wet kit. Ima use a 75 shot. But frank you taught me a few things i didnt know. You get big ups for that. My brother ran a 75 shot on his 02 spec v and had no problems. He had the bottle opener, wot switch, the warmer, traction control switch, yea so thats my current project. A car is only as good as it's driver. |
