So I was driving around today and my system was working fine. I went to the store and when I came out and started my car, my subs weren't on. The first thing I did is check to see if the power light was on, on the amp, which is was. I didn't think that it was a power problem, but I decided to check the fuse on the power cable and on the amp and they both are fine. So then I thought that maybe it was the remote wire. So I checked it at both ends and once again I was fine. I was so confused at this point that I decided to make sure the RCA's and the ground were ok which they were. So I have another amp and sub so I hooked those up and I have the same issue. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I should mention that my amp is hooked up to my factory headunit through a LOC and I checked those connections and they were fine?!

It sounds like the amp itself may be bad. Best way to check it would be to swap your amp into a buddy's whip and use all of his wires and subs, and see if the problem occurs. If so you've pinpointed the issue.

I hadc a problem with my setup because best buy installers are retarded. After I took it back to them twice and to two other shops (who all told me my amp was bad) it turned out to just be a bad remote. Since you confirmed the remote wire, I'm leaning towards the amp.

If you tried another amp and sub (and know that they work) then it has to be a problem in the wiring somewhere. If you're getting power, then I would think that the rca's would be the problem. This kind of troubleshooting is trial and error, which is my least favorite.

Did the 2nd amp you tried get power? Did you use the same speaker wire from the amp to the sub on both tries, cuz maybe that is the problem...

Yeah both amps ge power but nothing comes out of the sub. I guess I will have to disconnect everything and reconnect to see. I honestly don't know how driving one second everything is fine, and then the next second nothing works. I hate troubleshooting, lol!

if the amps turn on then its either the loc or the rca's running from the loc
