 Is it going to be a big difference if i drill out enough space in my grille and insert the end of the tube there or is it good in the normal spot behind the fender

if you're making your own intake and have the option to place a cold air intake filter near your grill, you won't notice a big difference.

The F&F types think the extra air flow is going to set it off. Mostly it's just to create more noise.

I would advice placing the filter too wide in the open because sucking in rain droplets seems to bog performance.
