Hey guys, well it rained for an entire week down here in cali and i ran in to some pontentialy dangerous problems with the driver side floor mat. With my shoes wet from running in the rain to get to my car my feet would slip on that plastic patch when i switch between pedals or change gears. In one instance I was about to start to brake and my foot slipped and hit the gas pedal, luckily i had the car in neutral. Has anyone ever encountered this problem? Is it just my shoes or are these cheaply made. BTW i have the OEM SCion all weather mats. Anyone know of some good replacements?

Never had this problem. Did you take the carpeting off the mats?? If so the carpeting will provide grip. I took mine out cuz when it rain mud tends it get in there and its harder to get the mud off the carpet rather the vinyl

Oh wow, those dont even look safe. You might want to look in to floor mats with deeper ridges in the vinyl. It might be a little harder to clean, but if your foot slipping is a recurring problem, it just might be worth it, haha.

Might be your shoes. If this was a potential hazardous issue, it would have been recalled. I remember my mom's highlander was recalled for the carpet clips. Toyota is good with this stuff.

were those floor mats from the dealer or from the store? Usually if there is any type of carpet on it it helps majorly

it only rains for about 6 months off and on though . During the summer its too hot for it to constantly rain . I would also suggest better shoes hahaha .
