I see .... a normally closed relay with the ACC as a trigger to open?

I would imagine KP tech uses a more solid state/less bulky approach. Their circuit boards are beautiful, they make a very nice and robust product.

Shaun from TokenSolutions.net, yeah the mirror tilt/electronic beep guy.

LOL ... I visualize controls in terms that I know. I'm sure that you're right, but I can imagine a relay pulling in to make a contact. A circuit board is a green piece of fiberglass that has inputs, does some magic and has outputs to me. I'm a mechanical engineer, not electrical.

KP: The main issue is getting the module to beep when the door is locked via remote without "side effects". The side effects are:

-beeping when the car doesn't actually lock, like when you press the button but the driver's door is open.
-beeping when the doors are locked via the door buttons .... like while you are driving.

The module won't beep if the doors don't lock - the beep inputs are tied directly to the actuators. If the actuators don't fire, the module won't beep.

If the ignition is on the module won't beep. The module has a dedicated transistorized ignition input (no relays at all in the module) - when that input is high (12vdc) the module ignores all beeps. However, if the ignition is off and you lock or unlock the doors from the door controls the module will beep. This "side effect" is a minor annoyance at most. With modern cars there shouldn't be many instances where you lock the doors from inside the car with the ignition off.

Cool .... I'm going to hold off for a bit to see if this last thing can be fixed, but I'll probably buy one regardless. How loud is the module? Would I be able to hear it from my driveway to my bedroom? My bedroom is right over the front door. Straight line distance would be about 75 feet.

Very simular to a Lexus IS 300's beep. When I initially tested the module I had the speaker in the cabin next to me, it did not hurt my ears... but then I'm hard of hearing (deployed for three years of my life).

Under the hood with the obstructions and what not, I would imagine its pretty soft and surely not annoying (like the cars that honk their horn or have a sharp piercing beep lol). But being that it is a treble/high pitch and not bass, it should travel well for being soft.

Nice mod, at first I thought it was when you park and the whole mirror goes in but this is pretty cool.
