This thread will become a guide that can be offered to new users looking for some exhaust options. As time goes on, I'll add more information of other exhausts systems as well as some owner feedback. Enjoy, I hope you'll find this informative! *please note the videos do not reflect actual exhaust sound. Variables such as video quality, modifications and environment will affect sound quality Tanabe Concept G ![]() YouTube Clip: CONCEPT G is an all new motorsports developed exhaust system that features high power benefits, while maintaining responsible sound levels. Using the all new 'continuous strand' ADVANTEX packing material technology, CONCEPT G acheives extremely high levels of exhaust system efficiency, while maintaining a street driveable, extremely clean sound output that is under 93db. This system requires no removeable silencer for under 93db operation at all rpms, and produces a unique, deep tone and rumble. The full SUS304 stainless CONCEPT G is designed for optimal pipe routing as well as ground clearance. It's sporty appearance and angle-cut tip is ideal for the sports car & sport compact driver. quoted from http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhausts/conceptg.asp Review - 1: Tanabe Concept G Reviewed by Tanabe Medallion Touring ![]() YouTube Clip: A refined level of performance and driveability is available in the MEDALLION TOURING. The elegant, well defined appearance of MEDALLION TOURING is mature, and matches the artistry of a tastefully built, highly tuned machine. Using the all new 'continuous strand' ADVANTEX packing material technology, MEDALLION TOURING achieves extremely high levels of exhaust system efficiency, while maintaining a street drivable, extremely low frequency and deep tone that is well under 93db for discreet sports driving. This system requires no removable silencer for under 93db operation at all rpms. The extremely deep, low frequency tone keeps in-cabin noise to a minimum. This fusion of aggressive styling and practical construction, makes this the logical choice for both Race and Street Enthusiasts. It improves high and mid-range performance while still allowing for suitable sound levels when used with the included tuned Tri-mounted Silencer*. *(Most applications below 92db, with all under 94db). HKS has incorporated this new race inspired offset muffler and piping design into many street applications, which offers a greater flow and higher-PRM power gains due to the less restrictive design. This is achieved by eliminating unnecessary bends for the straightest exhaust path. For turbocharged applications, the large and smooth exhaust flow allows greater exhaust velocity for better mid-range boost response and high-RPM power. Naturally aspirated vehicles also benefit from greater exhaust flow capacity as engine tuning levels increase. Certain applications are available in a Silent Hi-Power version which has an inner silencer built into the muffler. Like Drager Exhaust systems, Hi-Power Exhaust systems are made from SUS304 stainless steel muffler and tip assemblies. Depending on the application, Hi-Power muffler tips are 96mm, 115mm and 120mm in diameter, piping diameter ranges from 55mm to 95mm. Special Edition HKS Carbon Titanium Hi-Power Exhaust systems are exclusively available for certain popular applications. These exclusive versions of the Hi-Power Exhaust consist of a carbon fiber wrapped muffler shell, titanium tip, and polished SUS304 stainless steel piping. quoted from http://www.hksusa.com/products/more.asp?id=715 Precision Muffler tC Axle-Back ![]() YouTube Clip: Our tC version axleback has been tested on the MMW Header and we now can say that we have the quietest axle back for any tC with a header installed. Thanks Nadia, that was actually my own clip! Which reminds me, if anyone wants to replace any of those YouTube vids with their own video let me know. I'd much rather have a video created by one of our very own users. The owners of the exhausts are always the best at answering questions about it. |

Oh btw, I just took a look at the link for the TRD...and to avoid confusion it was for a Celica GT-S, so don't think you will be getting 14 ponies from a TRD muffler. |

I'm more confused then ever...I don't know what to get. My original thought was the concept g, but thats a little pricey for me. The TRD and the Injen are sounding kinda good. I'm trying to avoid that ricey sound, you guys know what i'm talking about. What are all your opinions? |

here is the evo2. Car is being put on hold until further notice. Work will continue pending on if i get the new toy i want or not. I will keep you all posted. UPDATE ON THE TUNE. It went ok but a few little issues that are causing my performance to be less than expected have shown themselves. Now I have to resolve them when I get the chance and it will be back to PTuning for the finishing touches. I've heard the Injen in person and it sounds really good. When you rev to high RPM it loses it's deepness, but still has a nice tuned sound. Tanabe Concept G is what I own and I think it's the best all around and doesn't sound rice. (Medallion Touring is the same just a little quieter) My favorite sound of all but also the most expensive is the Greddy Ti, it mimics the sound of a larger diameter pipe. |

Question Um i want to know where do i add a resonator to my Exhaust? haha thanks still trying to figure it out and what brand resonator is good? |
|
|
|
Orin
Reg'd: Dec 08, 2005 |
a more important question of a resonator rather than brand is design and quality. A resonator is usually welded onto the midpipe, check here is the link: http://www.clubsciontc.co...exhaust--in-general-.html |
