Ok so right now I have a Greddy strut tie bar, Tein S-techs, and an Ingalls rear shock tower brace. I would like to improve the handling as much as I can. Would I be better off with a rear sway bar or a rear tie bar and what exactly is the difference?

A sway bar is an is a part of the cars suspension. It connects opposite (left/right) wheels together through short lever arms linked by a torsion spring. A sway bar increases the suspension's roll stiffness—its resistance to roll in turns, independent of its spring rate in the vertical direction.
As for the Tie bar I am still look for an answer but there are a lot of knowledgeable and experienced ppl on the site. Help me out here guys^_^
what are the mod for DD, drag, drift?

Well it is a DD right now. I do drag once in a while, obviously can't drift because it is FWD, but I do autocross and that is why the suspension upgrades are important to me. I know what they do, but I am not sure if a sway and a bar do the same thing and if so which would be better.

Sway bar and tie bar pretty much do the same thing and as for autosross you might wanna look into changing your endlinks also

Sway bar prevents rolling from side to side and Strut braces prevent chassis torque on turns and acceleration.

Sways prevent Left to Right rolling onto outer edges of tires causing loss in traction.

Strut braces prevent the frame from corkscrewing itself upon given forces (acceleration...mainly from RWD vehicles..or high speed turns).

Best example of torquing off the line: (look at the difference in height of his front wheels...front passenger side is lower than front driver's due to corkscrew effect translated to the frame by the grip of the tires)

Example of how sway bars work: (tires are flat, unlike in torquing, but body of car rolls from side to side)

Hope this helps.

Ok well I have an opportunity to get a TRD rear sway from a good friend for $85 dollars. Now even though this is cheap, I am going for performance, so is the TRD sway a good buy or would I be better off with a different one?

So would you consider TRD rear sway to be a waste of money? I agree that TRD is overpriced and I do not have any TRD products on my car because I believe aftermarket is better than anything designed by the factory, however this price is very tempting.

just get the hotchkis front and rear. that way you will take away body roll from the entire car. and since you autocross that is what you want.

Car is being put on hold until further notice. Work will continue pending on if i get the new toy i want or not. I will keep you all posted.

UPDATE ON THE TUNE. It went ok but a few little issues that are causing my performance to be less than expected have shown themselves. Now I have to resolve them when I get the chance and it will be back to PTuning for the finishing touches.

Hotchkis is good, but it's overkill for a DD... I've got a TRD rear sway and it's perfect for normal and aggressive street driving. 85 bucks is a steal, go for it.

edit

go for the rear sway FTW!!

Hotchis is a bit extreme for a DD. If your a hardcore auto-x then id say the tradeoff is worth it. Passed that just the TRD sway will do you just fine
