Ok guys/gals i decided to go turbo and keep at the low boost for daily driving. What i want to do i start preparing and getting parts that i need for it so i dont have to dish out 5-6K at once.

This is the set up i want to go with: TurboToyotas basic kit

INCLUDED:

-Turbotoyotas "shorty" ram horn style T3 flanged stainless steel turbo manifold

- Garrett T3/T4 spec turbo

-TIAL 38MM WASTEGATE

- 2.5" Stainless steel DP and S-pipe combo

-Greddy BOV

- 20 x 7 x 2.5 intercooler

- 2.5" aluminum chargepipe kit with couplers and t-bolt clamps-powdercoated black

-3" intake pipe with K & N air filter - powdercoated black

-Turbotoyotas vacuum block with fittings for wg, bov and boost guage

-Steel braided oil feed and return lines

-Set of 550cc plug n play injectors

-All installation hardware

I know i have to purchase boost gauge, oil temp, A/F gauge. EMS i'm probably going with AEM FIC . Also i want to get boost controller and have two settings 5 and 9-10 psi for racing. Will the AEM FIC handle two maps? ( i do need 2 maps runngin for it right ?) Any suggestion on what else should i get? gauges, parts for the engine etc.

BOV question: Should i go with greddy that offered with the kit or get HKS instead ?

I'm a noob at it , so have to start learning. Also, is there a reason of should i start getting gauges, boost controller now or maybe wait, maybe a better part will be produced.
What do you guys think ? I want answers/suggestion from all the ppl especially from those who are boosted.
I'm planning to daily drive at 5 psi and 9-10 psi for track/racing.

sounds like a good setup. if you go with the emanage ultimate ems. you can have 2 maps programed to it so you can switch between the two easily. i don't know much about the aem system but i know they make solid systems.

Look into MegaSquirt for your ECU.. Very economical and you get full control of fuel and spark.

I would highly recommend you replace the ECU rather than piggyback systems.

you can peep my profile to see what i did. i have the TT stage 1 though. you will need the e-manage ultimate to run two maps for sererate fuel maps. i have the e-manage basic and actually just finished street tuning it today at 8 psi. as far as bov is all preference do you want loud? then go with the hks ssqv if not stay with greddy. keep me informed on how it goes. am interested to see the basik kit in action! good luck!

id start with for sure a boost gauge, next afr gauge, then my preference is oil pressure. start there with the boost guage being most important.

The MegaSquirt is $350 for the assembled one. You can buy the kit to assemble yourself for about $190.

First off, cognations on your decision. That sounds like a good setup, I myself have the HKS BOV and the Greddy ECU and for a piggy back system and it works outstanding. It has all kinds of features that I didn’t even know about when I got it. As far as the BOV I think it could be a little bit louder but it does what it can. The AEM wideband UEGO Controller is also a good chose if you want to spend the money on it. They are mostly for tuning. AEM Wideband UEGO Controller will even change color to let you know if you’re running lean or not. Something that you might want to think about is seals for everything. Some brands will have kick@$$ parts but flimsily seals.

I don’t know if “T3 ~flanged~ stainless steel turbo manifold” means that it has the BOV flange on it or not but I would look at it real good if i was you. Just to see if you need the flange. I ordered the wrong size at first.

All around it looks like a good kit.

I would ask Brandon “Jova09” about the BOV thing, I think his setup is similar.

ummm as far as the bov flange being on the manifold??? i think you had your thoughts crossed! haha the wastegate has a flange on the manifold and the bov flange will be welded into the charge pipe! todds kit comes with both welded in properly for which ever bov you choose!

Wow guys great answers, I appreciate your all inputs. Whats the difference between BOV and Bypass valve ?
Also do you guys know if AEM FIC will handle two maps ? or should i just go for greddy ultimate ( which hell of a lot more expensive) ?

is two maps completely necessary??? no. but yes it does handle two maps. if you want to boost seetings of the greddy emanage you have to have the pressure sensor so you can tune of boost vice voltage of the maf sensor. my opinion is that the aem fic is a little harder to tune and not to many are fluent with it yet so id wait a few years before you get that. i have the emenage blue and have not one complaint...

Hmm and i actually thought that to run 2 different psi levels i will need 2 maps. am i wring ? i 'm trying to run 5 psi daily and like 9psi when at the track or racing someone. I'm sure they will be surprised.

you see with a 5 psi spring in you wont be able to exceed 10psi. and with a 5 psi spring running 9psi is , well ok but not so good. your better off running a .5 bar spring (which is 7.25 psi, what im using) and DD at 7.25 psi and having your second boost setting at 9-10 psi or what eve ryou desire. with the .5 bar spring you can go as high as 14 psi. its all in how much power YOU want to make.
