alright i was going to go with trd springs and trd sway bar. Is this a good setup for much better handling. I also thought of either throwing a front sway or front strut. would that be good with the springs and rear sway. also anyone with these did you get alot better handling, less body roll, be able to hit truns faster. also if i lower it should i get black 17's or 18's thanks...

It's night and day from the stock setup. I'd get the full hotchkis sway bar set. The trd rear sway is the hotchkis one with their markup. Eventually you'll probably have to replace the struts, but you can always deal with that when the time comes. I'm running trd struts and springs, hotchkis sway bars and front strut bar (also trd rebadge) and the ingalls rear strut brace. The car handles great

I've said it before, Hotchkis is going to have the most complete and stiffest sway bars.

I have a TRD spring & sway bar combo and just as Frank said, it's a night and day difference from stock. You'll handle much closer to a sports style of driving, but I always think my setting should be stiffer.

Go with Hotchkis sways

well what about best springs for handling and looks, i will get a body kit someday and dont want my car too low but want much better handling and looks. was thinking bout hotchkis, trd, tien h, or skunk 2 which is a 2.5 inch drop prolly too much. anything from 1.6 to 2.1 inch drop would be great what do yall think. Also with yor setups to the ones that answered me did you get better handling at all types of turns, and lot less body roll thanks alot guys jus wanna get this right since ill order them in like a week..

Question for Franky and Orin. How does the ride feel with the trd stuff on it? I was thinking of getting TRD springs and sway because I figured their springs would give Me a pleasing drop without compromising the ride comfort. Also, I know they improve handling, but do sways and strut bars make the ride less comfortable?

I just dont want My tC to turn out like some of the civics I've riden in where every crack in the road feels like a 4 inch pothole and makes the cd player skip.

You can feel the road bumps much more pronounced then with the stock setup, but there is little to no bodyroll left, so for me it was an easy compromise. The stock handling was the one thing that I hated when I test drove my tc. That is primarily the only reason I got the trd suspension and strut bar (tossing it into the financing didn't hurt either). While I was waiting for the car to be delivered, I ordered the hotchkis sways and had the dealership put them on when they put on the trd stuff. This way I drove the car off the lot with good suspension and promptly began testing it out. I'm a big fan of this setup, but if I'd have waited until after the purchase to upgrade the suspension, I'd have gotten coilovers instead of the trd suspension. I'd still have gotten the hotchkis sways and strut bar and the ingalls rear strut brace. I'm actually looking at a set of coilovers now, but not sure if I really want to fix something that isn't broken. The only other thing that I'm interested in checking out is the megan c-pillar brace. I'm looking forward to socal's review once he gets it installed.

Cool...thanks for the info. I'm thinking about going with the trd springs and rear sway to start. I'll see how it all feels from there. Can always get rid of the springs if I dont like the feel.

If you're going to get sways, I highly recommend the full hotchkis setup. The trd rear sway is the the rear hotchkis sway with a trd sticker on it. For a little extra you can get both without having to pay the trd markup. Always remember, trd doesn't make anything themselves, they just find well made stuff that other companies made and charge more for it because they endorse it. Just a thought...

well since it make the ride stiffer i just fixed my trunk rattle (annoying) with foam tape and do you think itll make it come back since the bumps will hit harder. also i have one last q for anyone with the sway and spring setup, say you pushed your car to the limit in a turn where you knew you couldnt go anyfaster and you were doin 60 stok in the turn, after the sways and springs how fast could you hit the turn and feel the same pushed to the limit, jus wonderin thanks

first off, no car is capable of doing 60 in a 90 degree turn, haha, so I hope you dont plan on trying it. However, say you could take a turn at 15 mph and that was the max, you could probably take a turn with the sway bar kits and springs at probably 25. That all depends on how good of tires you have.

tires are really the most important consideration to the question. You could have the stiffest suspension setup out there, but if your tires don't grip, you will crash.

I have a few questions.

1) Does anyone know who makes the TRD dampers?
2) What settings on the Hotchkis sways give the best handling? Would it be as tight as they go or is that too much.

My last car was a '00 Accord V6 sedan with a full racing setup including Tein SS coilovers. In messing around with them, I found that if I turned them up too much, the suspension didn't have enough give and I'd hold less G's (measured with my G-Timer). The sedan (dubbed 3G for Grandma's Grocery Getter) got up to 0.9g's and I hit 0.95. My goal with this car is to hold 1.5g's, so I'm want to find the best setup and settings for the car before I buy parts.

3) The Eibach springs are listed as a 1.4" drop, yet Dr. I has them as 1.25" .... what is it?

My current plans are Energy Suspension Master kit, Eibach Sport springs, Koni Sport dampers, Hotchkis sways, Inalls rear upper brace, Hotchkis strut brace, ebay rear lower tie bar.

Any recommendations?

I can't answer all your questions but:

2) For the most part, people tend to run the stiffest on the rear bar with the looses on the front bar.

3) Eibachs are 1.4" all round.

Just a little info on the Koni Yellows. You will have to cut your stock dampeners to fit the Yellows. The front's require you to use the lower part of the OEM dampener and slip the new dampener into it. The rears however, drop right in.

I was reading about that on Koni's website ... I didn't see that mentioned anywhere else, so I didn't know if it was right ... is there any problem with using the stock pieces that they need? I'm confident that my machinist friend can do anything that needs to be done, but I'm wondering if that is a good enough reason to buy something else. So far, from what I've read, the Koni's seem to be the best made for our cars. It's too bad that Toyota had their falling out with Billstein. I'm in love with their products!
