Are the OBX Pedals a quality buy?

I'm really hating my skinny stock pedals right now and want to upgrade to the OBX pedals.

But I want to know if anyone else has them and how they like them. The last set of pedals I bought were a clamp on style and they almost got me killed. I floored the gas one day and the hose clamp thing snagged the carpet and the pedal stuck to the floor.

-How do they attach?
-Do they mount solid with minimal to no slop?
-I use the Heel/toe method when downshifting, is the gas and brake pedal to close after the pedal install?

They attach by removing the stock rubber parts exposing the bare metal, you'll slide the new shoes on like the fat chick trying on the size 6

Once they are in place, it's very solid and I'd have to pry it with a crow bar to remove them.

IMO you don't need to heel toe, but installing these pedals will not affect the spacing of the clutch/brake/gas

the quality of the aluminum and rubber grips is superb, well worth the money as long as you don't mind every other Scion has them.

Buy them for sure

^--i agree with this but, apparently Scion didn't mount mine properly and the outide lining which is made of rubber kind of just tore off, weird.

Don't let this throw you off though, they are quality pedals for the buy.

There solid, fit well, look nice. As stated, as long as you don't mind seeing them on a lot of cars.

I have them on mine and I like them. They just slip on like the OEM pedal covers. They seem do be good quality and I have nevr had an issue with them. I too have had the clamp on pedals in the past and to be honest they suck in all kinds of ways. Unless they slip over like the OBX or screw in, they are not worth it!

Osnap these aren't the generic universal clamp-on pedals? I might have to pick up a set!

Yeah I know that's what I was thinking. I seen them and was like, thank god a pedal that doesn't attach with a hose clamp.

I agree with clutch. They can be extremely slippery when wet. I have had my fot slip off the clutch pedal as well.

Sparco makes a nice se that has traction and should be slippery. But I have ha my OBXs for 2 years and they are quality.

I drive mine everyday and the majority of the time I am in dress shoes and my feet never slip. Maybe I just lucked out!

Well this was a reassuring read. I just ordered a set of these pedals on ebay, good to know they're good quality and a lot of people are satisfied with them.

I'm a bit disappointed, I received my pedals today and I was expecting them to say OBX in the center like in the picture but they don't.

hmm.. now I'm curious to see if mine have the OBX logo. Either way, they serve serious function and a good dose of looks.
