Are you ready to spend an ass load of money? Cause what your talking about is switching the entire transmission and all of its components. I mean anything can be done and as long as you are not concerned about the cash. If you are then I would suggest either keeping the auto, or trading in for a manual.

$3,418.09 plus!!! Remember that doesn't even include labor. You would probally be looking at 5-6K easy! You would be better off spending that money on boost!

either that or trade your car in, might lose that amount due to the trade in, but ull also have a new 08 tc which you KNOW will be reliable...IMO when u do conversion i would imagine that there are manyyyyy things that can go wrong down the road...i would say if its NECESSARY...then just trade your current car in and get a new tc

edit::

seeing as u have the rs1....and many mods...i dont see you trading it in...sooooo BOOST it is

The tC's get great trade in, the used car manager at the dealership I wuz at paid 16k for an '05 w/ 25k miles on it. Trade it in, since you can't haggle on the new price shop around on who'll give you the best trade-in.

true true...and after looking at ur mods...alot of the mods u have are the mods that can be used no matter wat year tc you have......
just put ur car back to stock and save your mods for the new tc....only bad thing is u wont have that beautiful red...you would have to settle for a new color

you will need a butt load of things

manual trany,
clutch,
flywheel,
starter from a manual tc,
new engine harness from a manual tc,
new gauges, and electrical for the interior,
shift linkage

all in all its not worth it someone else tried it and they quit when they were almost done

just turbo it...just cuz it's an auto doesn't mean you can't do anything powerwise to it

True that! Boost it! It's a better way to spend the money and you know you want to!

i did the manual conversion on my 2001 Mazda 626 and came out 50 bucks ahead. A lot of the parts I took from a junkyard and cleaned up. The transmission I bought from a dealer, and I sold them my automatic for slightly more than I bought the manual for. I saved on the labor by using the tools and time of 5 of my friends. It was more for fun than to actually improve my car.

^ very true, i've seen you say this a few times and if you have some car know-how im sure its doable...

you can even come out with this profit!
if you are able to do all the install yourself.. then you probably have the knowhow to take care of any potential problems too...

personally, i couldnt ever do it... im stuck with my auto

well if your going to boost your cehicle, will it be fr pure performance wise, or just to have boost. If its the second one, then boost with auto, if you wanna make it a pure performance vehicle do a converion. Acouple tc owners did their conversion for 1200-1500 out here and its been about 3 years and still no problems. As for boost, the dexum (or w/e) is "iono" i heard you have to cut into the daftey frame of the body for the intercooler is this true?
