So after waiting two weeks our Toyota dealer still hadn't found us a used 05-06 man. tc But they found us a 03 Corolla type S, so it's no tc but it will do for the next few years. I'm very happy with the power, it's not a sports car but cuts through traffic more than I would of thought.

We are still going to try to get one soon so I would like to hang around and learn more about them.

I'll post pics of our new car later.

Wow what part of the US do you live in? usually used 05-06 tC's are really easy to come by. I just helped my friend buy one and we found at least 10 in our area for a pretty decent price.

But on the other hand at least you stayed with the toyota family =) You will like the corolla, even more so that its a type s.

We live in Bakersfield CA. There are some around but we wanted a Toyota Certified for our main car, so now I want to save up and buy a tc.

Our Corolla is covered by warranty until 100k or 2010. With going to the coast and being the only car in the fam at the min that's important.

Thanks,

I have a question, this may not be the best place to ask but I've seen people on ebay selling stock tc wheels and tires and say they fit on a Corolla, now I'm sure they will fit lug (5 x 100), but what about hight. the wheel and tire on the corolla are 24in tall.

Why would he do that? I think the 6spd GTS motor is good enough under the Corolla S' hood :o

With the GTS your talking 170hp but with a tc motor your talking 160hp, but now put all the mods on and your running 245hp w/5speed (less shifting). I test drove a xrs and to tell you the truth the s feels more sporty, the xrs did great on 0-50 or 0-70 but the s seems to have more power in the middle like 40-70. The downshiftn will push you back in your seat at all most any point the xrs didn't seem to do that.
