08 Headlight Projectors vs HID?

 The 08 TC comes with "projector" headlights... What's the difference between projectors and HID 6000k? Thanks

 The headlights are called projectors, the bulb itself within the projector is still a regular halogen bulb. You can replace these halogen bulbs with HID bulbs.

The projector headlight is the housing for the bulbs. a 6000k HID kit will only replace your bulbs.

The advantage to having a projector headlight with your HIDS is that the light will be much more concentrated and cut-off, unlike the stock 05-07 headlight housing which makes the light fly out in just about every direction lol.

 That all depends on what you want. You can get those white halogens or HIDs. HIDs are the shiznits tho.

 So isn't the HID kit a whole new assembly and not just bulbs...?

 HID does require installation of some things but very little. You just have to find a place to put the ballasts (in my case I just found a spot and used double-sided tape to tape it down), and the rest is plugging stuff together, putting the bulbs in.... that's pretty much it, lol.

 to clear things up....

- HID kits only replace bulbs.
- projector headlights make HID kits more focused.
- They are sold seperately
- bulb size is 9006 for low beam.
- most common temperature for HIDs between 4300k and 12000k

 Dude get the HID's. Trust me you will be so happy with your purchase. As shown above ^ the four digit number followed by the "K" is the color temperature of the light. It also determines how bright the light will be. A projector is just a type of housing that literally projects the light helping you to see better. HID's is just a bulb that produces a light that looks more like natural light. It is much brighter and it makes those halogens that you have now look yellowish. So getting the HID's along with the projector that you already have, visibility will not be a problem. Just remember you get what you pay for. Those $130 HID's may not be the best quality and may not last as long but maybe they will. I personally have Pilot HID's and have had them for a year and never an issue. I have compared them side by side with other types and they are the nicest by far. Good luck and remember to post some pics if you get them!

 I just ordered new projector headlights, similar, but I didn't care for the eylid, so I have actual non-overlay lids going on the headlights. Plus, they have the same contour as the stocks do under the lamps.........
