If I want to get one of those 3 or 4 inch antennas to replace the stock one, will that affect radio reception?

Thanks

Well some of them will affect reception, haha. I got a 4" one from Mangowalk, and it is a POS!

But some antenna's like the S2000 antennas give better reception, I hear. Those are 6" antennas. Perrin makes a 4" antenna and haven't heard anyone complain of them.

Whatever you do, stay away from Mangowalk! Haha.

You can try Ebay. But if you would like to steer away from that you can also try a Honda dealership. The Honda dealership around me tried to charge me $70 for one. Forget that.

Here are some websites that sell S2k antennas. But nothing beats some in depth google search man.

Those 2 links are for Honda's and they are 7 inchers.... I was looking for one that would work on a Scion TC and that are shorter like 3 or 4 inches.

I looked on eBay and nothing for a TC comes up under s2000 or s2k antenna

I did find some from Mangowalk but was told to avoid him

I've got a 4" and it seems to work fine. I've only listened to the radio 3 or 4 times, though.

If you want something that is 2-4" and works well you might want to check Perrin:

I know it says that it is for an S2000, but it should fit a tC, haha. If you are wary, continue looking for a Perrin antenna.

Ok and once I buy one of these, does the current antenna just screw off and the new one screw on? Thank you

Haha, yup, its that simple. Screw on screw off. I suggest picking up some Locktite from you local home improvement store. This will prevent people with sticky fingers from stealing your sweet antenna.

Lastly, can anyone give their opinions as to how the 2inch vs 4inch looks? Thanks

Thats kinda a personal preference question, haha. But I had the option of getting either a 2" or 4". I think 4" looks better. The 2" one looks a little awkward because its kinda wide, haha.

But both are better than the stock antenna!

From the pics Ive seen, the 2" antenna is a bit fatter than the 4" one. But again, its personal preference.

I have a pic of my 4" antenna:

I got a Perrin 4 inch antenna and it looks great but I lose reception every time I go under a tunnel. Reception isn't really there if you have this antenna but I guess thats the sacrifice you have to make. Plus I paid around 25 dollars for it so yea..kinda pricey but its nice I like it.

Just got the 4 inch... Reception seems the same except on one station where its just a tiny bit of static. (I live in Miami though)
