andino Manhattan Beach California, US Godlike Advisor	Got pulled over tonight on my way back from a meet. Ticket for modified exhaust, no front plate, and provisional cuz i was driving a friend. any ideas on the cost for the provisional violation? oh and the amount for the fix it fee when i go to get the exhaust and plate checked? Yah well I guess that was a great way to start my Thanksgiving Break... lame. i wasn't even speeding or anything. just at the end of the line i guess and they had to pick on the only tC in the crowd... Fliphm00b Washington, US Chief Mechanic	that sux bud...try to fight it..cuz thats dumb...cuz i got pulled over for my white (look alike lexus license plate lights) lights..and when the cop came up to me he said u know what i pulled u over for? I was like no he said becuz i couldnt tell if ur license plate light was blue or white...I was like its white officer...and then he tried to say u know u cant have a modified exhaust right? I was like really? and I was like o i didnt noe that...and then he said how long have u had it I was like 6 months and then he just checked my registration and license and insurance...then let me go...sorry for the story....

Raven Hawthorne California, US Master Mechanic	I think provisional means he isnt 18 yet and there are rules on how he can drive until he is, am I right Andy? Meaning he cant be driving with friends in his car. The fix it cost should only be like 10 or 15 bucks. And we aren't allowed to have modified exhaust at all? I thought certain one were allowed. How can the dealer offer the TRD exhaust if its not legal to have on the car? Then again Cali cops are dicks. My buddy got a ticket for his exhaust, got it cleared at the courthouse, got pulled over for it again and told the cop he JUST got an okay for it, had the proof in the car and the cop gave him another ticket for it anyway. Stupid pigs

andino Manhattan Beach California, US Godlike Advisor	Provisional is you can't drive people for a year after you get your license. i'm only like 2 months away from that so i'm gonna try and get the fine reduced. my exhaust is less than 93dB so i'm gonna get that cleared aswell. i fix the plate when i got home last night so that's no problem. my friend alex said the provisional fine like like 200 bucks or something so i'm hoping that i can get it reduced or thrown out when i go fight in court. edit: raven, the cop was a total d-bag. he was pulling everyone over with modified exhausts. i think he was just picking on us because we were in a group of scions. he tried to get me for my radar detector too. he's like those are illegal and stuff. i dunno, it just wasn't a good night. i did get to play a lot of pool though at the scion ryders place lol Are you in SoCal? sweetbass123 Westlake Village California, US Detailer	The provisional period in cali just changed last year I think to 1 year. Before that, it had always been 6 mo. maybe you can work that to ur advantage in court somehow.

andino Manhattan Beach California, US Godlike Advisor	^^ i'm just gonna be like the cop was being a total jerk and wanted to give me tickets for everything on my car. i'm gonna bring up how the front plate is correctional and the exhaust is totally legal too. it was also a waste of my time to go over to the place to get them to sign off my stuff when it was perfectly legal. i'll also bring up how many cars drive around without a front plate, i.e: BMW, Benz, TONS of prius's, etc. it violates my equal protection that they gave me a ticket but not the Bimmer next to me one for no plate. my "amplified" exhaust is also perfectly legal so that was a total waste of my time. hopefully all that will convince the judge to lower my fine or throw it out. Kurisutaira Godlike Advisor	i had no idea modified exhausts were illegal, if anything it shuld be those damn hondas with there cherry bomb exhaust getting pulled over, thats BS. cops always gotta take away the cool $hit...next time i get pulled over im gonna give him a piece of paper with a fine on it for there tint being too dark...lol i can play hard ball too! andino Manhattan Beach California, US Godlike Advisor	^^ haha that's a good idea. modified exhaust aren't illegal if they're less than 95dB. which mine is so i'm not worried about that. front plate has been fixed to i can go get it signed off then it's coming off again since i just fabbed up a holder that connects to the grill. i may just throw my OEM exhaust back on and get that checked off then carry about the papers that say it's legal. they pulled a lot of our club over last night so that was gay Are you in SoCal? Kurisutaira Godlike Advisor	culd have been they were stakeing ya'll out, since i assume its a club with alot of people with aftermarket parts so thats a money pit right there...cops....sometimes they are about as annoying as the meter maids..they all need to get a real job....before i piss any1 off i'll admit not all cops are like that, just the traffic police, coz all they do is sit at either dunken donut, or the waffle house or huddle house reading the news paper or stuffing there faces....but there are the few that actually do something. so im not generalizing except only to the traffic cops, they are all a bunch of tools...
