Try a clay bar. They can get just about anything off of your car. Also, if you fill your wash bucket with hot water from inside, I've noticed that helps to loosen up the bug remains. If that doesn't work, just repaint the car

This is the best stuff on the planet

Gold Class™ Bug & Tar Remover

Bug splatter and road tar are highly adhesive and when left in place they will bond to your paint, potentially causing etching or staining. Gold Class™ Bug & Tar Remover is specifically designed to remove these extra tough substances before they mar your finish. For safe and effective removal of contaminants, we suggest using a high quality 100% cotton towel like our Ultra Plush Super Terry for agitation and final wipe off.

I wouldnt recommend using a fingernail. Use a microfiber towel.

I have had real good luck w/ Rain-X car care products. I have also used a clay bar system to remove bugs, and also WD-40 works really well too. I also will use Fantastic occasionally when I am in a fix. Be sure when you wash your car, use a quality car soap, minus the harmfull chemicals found in other soaps. DO NOT use laundry soap to wash your car, which will ruin the paint and leave lots of streaks behind. Plus it is not made to wash paint. The chemicals in laundry soap will make your paint look dull and not shiny, and can remove the polish and wax you have applied to your paint prior. I like to use a few drops of Dawn dish soap which is quite mild, and good quality car soap. Dawn I have found will help break up dirt, grime, bugs, and other junk in the paint. Plus washing your car w/ warm-hot water helps a ton too.

down here in FL they have those do it your self car washes that you just pull into and you can use the foaming brush, high pressure hose, blower, and some kind of conditioner...theyve got a option for bug removal at some of the places. I usually spray the common areas with theyre stuff and let it soak in while i begin to wash the rest of the car. Then by the time I go to rinse it off it just comes off with ease. Every year we get a BIG problem from these love bugs and it last about a month. Real hassle to clean but this does the job.

magic eraser IS amazing. Just wet a portion of it down before using it and don't push to hard or go too fast because the heat from the friction will leave a mark. I had this happen on my mustang. Luckily it was on the front bumper in a spot where no one looks and it wasn't that big.

I've experimented with a lot of different methods of removing bug/guts from the bumper, especially after they've been baking in the sun and I've come down to a few favorite methods.

1. warm soapy bucket/ w bug scrubbing sponge / finish with clay bar

2. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser --- by far the easiest method, but I always wonder if a microscopic layer of my paint is coming off with those bugs. Works fantastic and I've only used it twice. Best results.

3. High pressure wash + some scrubbing + clay bar.

I just purchased the Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover..its really good

Turtle Wax® Bug & Tar Remover is an innovative product formulation that removes bugs, tar, tree sap, and road grime from your car's finish and restores a deep gloss shine. This is a gel formula that clings to vertical surfaces, thus allowing it to penatrate for better cleaning performance. Not only will it clean, this product also leaves a shiny protective wax barrier that helps prevent future bugs and grime from sticking to exterior surfaces. Trigger spray.

I used Rain-X bug and tar..... They came right off when washing... I considered the Turtle Wax product but the Rain-X did the job and it was a little cheaper.
