This was posted by Web in another thread, I really like this shifter he picked out.

Web wrote:
This is definately a knob to get used to using but believe me, it is AWESOME! It is almost weight less when on the shifter rod so you can feel the rod going into each gear 100%. I'm not a fan of weighted knobs just b/c they feel weird when I'm shifting. They tend to get you into gear a millionth of a second faster, but,....haha..., that really doesn't make them any better IMO. The added weight of those knobs helps make shifting slightly more effortless, but I like the feel of actually having to pull the rod into gear.

This shift knob has a nice weight when you hold it, but it's evenly distributed rather than just being top heavy. The leather feels pretty good and provides a substantial amount of grip as compared to the stock tC shift knob.

This knob fits my shifting style perfectly. Pulling down into 2nd seems slightly easier and more direct than having the stock knob, and pushing up into 5th I can tell I won't be miss shifting again. I can firmly press the end of the knob into the center of my palm and push towards 5th without slipping. The fact that it has more of a rigid surface area rather than a curved one makes it, IMO, much easier to push up into gear.

Install was easy...2/5
2 b/c if you've never taken the column apart before (for use with after market boot kits), it's a bit of a challenge not to break the trim piece around the shifter. Just presses on with compression fittings and has 3 alan screws that thread into the side and compress against the shaft center. The knob is FIRMLY in place and has no play at all.

I got this knob for 86$ (dealer cost ) where as most websites I've searched list it for no less than 108$. I'm glad with my purchase and hope this review is worth reading for those interested in new, and DIFFERENT, shift knob.

I got a pep boys shift knob. I think it gets the job done: aesthetics.

But Web's shift knob is mor for performance.
