is it illegal on the front window shield if u tint it ?
what if you tint it lightly?
i live in maryland.

As far as I know, it's illegal anywhere you go. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The only time it can be legal is if you have a note saying you have very light sensitive eyes.
My car isn't the fastest car out there, but I'll tell ya....

I tinted my front windshield and I live in MD, and it is illegal. I have 50% tint, and you can't even tell its tinted unless you can see imperfections or are sitting directly in the driver's seat and can see the "waves". I do have a prescription for my tint though. If you don't get it dark, they probably won't be able to tell w/o a full inspection.

It's illegal. But as stated, unless you have a doctor's note, but I don't believe the front windshield can be tinted even with that. I think they just allow a longer visor tint from the top.
I have 40% and I can see great at night and it's nice during the day b/c it reduces a bit of glare.
Complaining is futile when you supported the victory.

well i live in leonardtown maryland .. and i have a 35% tint strip on my front windshield and its like 12 inches or a lil more!

There is a Honda Element in my neighborhood that has dark windshield tint
I thought it looked pretty slick until I saw him pulled over with flashing lights behind him
if it's light enough you can usually get away with it, but if cops can't see your face, they'll get nervous and pull you over in a heartbeat
I wouldn't recommend any windshield tint

in CA its legal to have only 4in from the top tinted. but you live in maryland, so its kinda useless.
So what if my girlfriend drives a Supra, I'm sexier than she is! No... I'm not...

in maryland the law is that the windshield can only have a strip across the top. that strip is not alowed to go below the AS1 line. if you look at the windshield either on the left or right you can look and see in small print AS1 with a little line under it.
tint shops by law are not suppose to tint below that line. the tint is also not allowed to be darker than 35% on the front. that is why people that have strips of vinyl going across usually get pulled over. your also not suppose to put stickers, or vinyl that spell anything below that line either because it blocks your view to the front of the vehicle. also blocking a small child or dog, deer whatever.
Car is being put on hold until further notice. Work will continue pending on if i get the new toy i want or not. I will keep you all posted.
UPDATE ON THE TUNE. It went ok but a few little issues that are causing my performance to be less than expected have shown themselves. Now I have to resolve them when I get the chance and it will be back to PTuning for the finishing touches.

im pretty sure that if you have anything that is below that lil mark on your windshild, you can get a ticket for. so if you do it, get it very light, or just dont do it at all

that little mark is the as1 line i mentioned before. and yes if a cop is wanting to be prick about something they can give you a ticket for it. either an inspection ticket or maybe a fine. either way your going to be paying money.

Front windshield tint is illegal..
Now a friend of mine has a half of his tinted... and limo all around - was't pulled over..not once...

hmmm.. as far as i know.. even with the doctor's note.... with it you can only go to 70%
and that's only in certain states as well... otherwise... yeh... very illegal

I would tell you to do what ya want! Its your choice .. it is illegal here in MD .. but i have a strip on mine .. not the hole windshield done but a strip that is way past the legal limit line .. mine is like 15 inches long from top to bottom and havent been pulled over for it yet .. its been more than a year! so its your choice basically!!

Took me two years to get my first tint ticket in MD for 20%, and that was right after a police officer was shot because someone had limo tint and a gun behind it, so they were cracking down. If you don't go crazy with it, you won't have a problem

Agreeing wit Frank again!! Man me and you agree on a lot ..lol.. but yea dont go super duper crazy wit it!! cuz cops here HATE that tint wit the silver fade in it and especailly hate different color tint!!! My friend had got blue tint done for his car and the shop finished it and had it around the front of the store and when he went to pick it up. He pulled out of the light onto the road and the cop came up behind him and pulled him over!! He had to get it taken off .. he didnt even have it on for a day before they got him .. i thought it was funny as hell!!

50% is on mine and now wanting to go darker like 35%. hehehe. To answer your question. it is illegal to have tint on the front windshield.
