and you meant MAF right not throttle body vvv cause you run a dry kit.

It always confused me when somebody said before and than somebody else said after. My nozzle is placed in the actual intake rubber tubing about 6 inches infront of throttle body.

I'll just take a pic and post it later because its easier to understand it that way haha.

with mine the most difficult part was drilling and tapping the fuel rail. yeah it sounds easy but i had alot of leaks that took a while to fix

Did the free kit come with a window switch and the other safety switches?

That does not look right at all for a DRY kit, but perfect for a WET kit.

Zex even makes an air filter with a nitrous line built in. That way you can guarantee that the nitrous flows through the MAF. However, this is obviously only for DRY kits.

yeah thats what i thought too but all the talk with before/after confused me but either way its worked fine so far. So where should i put it seeing as I have a DRY kit. I dont see how i can put it before the maf?

You can drill into the top of the airbox... That's the only solution i'm seeing, really. As long as the nitrous sprays through the MAF you'll be fine. Devise a way to do that and you're golden.

That or you can jig-rig the Zex filter onto your stock intake. Good luck with it, whatever you're planning on doing.

well even though its worked okay the way it is now that i know its not safe at all im not going to keep doing it. Im most likely going to get the injen cai and use it as a short ram and buy the zex filter with the nozzle built in and go that route. Atelast now i have a good reason to buy the injen intake haah.

This reminds me of a trick a friend and i tried on his shitbox contour. We bought a can of ether (The stuff that makes carb'd cars easier to start). We poked a hole in his intake tube and ran a length of vacuum hose to the driver's seat.

When he was at full throttle, he hit the ether, and lo and behold! Nothing happened! We pondered our stupid ricer brains out and couldn't figure out a damn thing. We duct taped the hole up promptly afterwards.

(One sidenote: i'm still not sure if his Ford uses a MAF sensor. I think it's something Ford developed to fuck with people.)

Moral of the story: the MAF is important. It's the only sensor the engine has that meters the amount of air coming through the intake tube. If you bypass that sensor, the engine has no idea wtf is going on and just dumps fuel at a regular pace assuming everything's normal.

I still want to try the ether trick now that i know of sensor importance. It could be interesting...

Holy crap powerhouse! i thought you were all good, in your other post i told you it had to be no closer than 6 inches in "front" of the MAF(thats the thing that sits right to the left of the square air box)and preferably no farther than 8.

yeah you need to stop using or fix it ASAP, the only thing saving you from catastrophe is your primary O2, its reading huge amounts of oxigen in your exhaust so its making the ecu compensate fuel. BUT thats after the fact that it has leaned the @#$%! out!

you don't have to spend all that loot on the injen(unless you really want it) you can buy a cheap ebay short ram for what ever year your tc is, I have a brand NEW ZEX air injector amplifier(cone filter with nozzle on top), in the box with a 6 foot dry line. PM i'll give you a good deal just make sure you get a "2.75" inch intake cause thats the size of the filter. OR you could buy a cheap ebay CAI and tap/drill the nozzle into it. try to find one with the MAF as close to the throttle body as possible.

you are a crazy @#$%!

wow that was more intense than that one time I forgot how to sit down...

well now my question is how do i know what the intake tubing diameter is. All the sites im looking at dont tell you what diameter it is so how would i go about getting the right size.

Well i know this...

Fujita= 2.75"
K&N=2.75"
Injen=3" as a CAI 2.75" as a SRI (i'm not 100% on this one)
WR=2.75"

the ebay bobo ones usually have it listed.

oh well that works out fine. I was gonna get either the injen or the fujita. Prob the fujita seeing as its cheaper and ill just use it as a short ram with the zex filter....assuming that the fujita can be converted into a ram air for th 2007. Anybody know if it can or not?
