The Techie

... stock plugs are the best already.

only thing is if you boost, you can use colder ones... but that's really it.

Irridium plugs and nitrous don't get along very well. You're better off to get regular copper plugs a step or two colder and just replace them every 5000 miles w/ the oil. They're like 48 cents so no big deal. The irridium ones are expensive as hell, and the nitrous will start to break them down.

THE SHADOW

Colder plugs necessary with N2O due to higher ignition temperatures of the N20. If you run iridium, they burn hot already and adding the N20 that burns even hotter will cause preignition or multiple ignition leading to internal burnout in your cylinders. Also, valve seals and plugs will be damaged to no repair.

THE SHADOW

For those who don't know, here's some basic spark plug information:

Hot plug on left.....medium in center.........cold on right

The more insulated the electrode, the hotter the plug will be. Also, the larger gas pocket, the hotter the plug. The more gas that can be kept around the electrode will cause hotter/longer burning.

I honestly don't know the temp rating of our stock plugs, so ask one of the nitrous guys on here what they are running and then just get the NGK copper equivalent. Or you could just call a dealership.

there are iridium and $$! as hell.

the F/I guys use these but they are fine for N2O.

or you could use copper and save lots of $$ N2O eats your plugs quick any way...

wow that was more intense than that one time I forgot how to sit down...

well. i called ngk and they gave me a part number (BKR8EIX) and a stock number at your parts store 2668. these are iridium but they guy from ngk said they are 2 steps colder than stock and will work with a 75shot. he also said that there have been no probs reported running N2O with iridiums.

That's the problem. No one reports the problem back to the vendor...only the manufacturer.

Don't get the irridium plugs if you're running nitrous, get copper and change them w/ your oil. You can do what you want, but the irridium are a waste of money on a nitrous system and will cause damage over time.
