I had a friend who always had beaters(straight up crap) and he would always work on them cause he hated mechanics...thing was he sucked at fixing cars lol just had no clue(i would just watch). later on i had a friend who also had a bunch of beaters and he would also work on them him self, his reason was just that it saved money if you did the minor stuff and let the shops handle the big stuff(transmissions,electrical,etc...) he was pretty good. He never really taught me any thing thought, he just told me if you have a head for common sense a good memory and are not afraid to take shiz apart, cars are easy... I had all 3, the TC is my first victim...err..."project" I have had pretty good luck with all my cars before, very few problems. wow that was more intense than that one time I forgot how to sit down... |

Wow...what got me into cars... Well I'm going to have to say I was about 12 when my older brother started showing me how to work on a car. He had an 86 Trans Am, he had rebuilt the motor so that this car had almost 400hp. He would take me out in an open field and do donuts and such, I used to think it was the most amazing thing ever, working on a car....but I was a tomboy anyway. I really got into the tuner scene in 1999 when I bought my first brand new Honda Civic, I started doing little things to it here and there, but I didn't get into clubs or showing until 2000 when I traded that Honda in for a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse, oh how I loved that car, but she got laid to rest in February 2003 when she was totaled in an awful intersection accident. So now it's the tC and I...and I do something new to her whenever money allows. I love it, I love working on her, I love making her shine and stand out, it's like I have motor oil in my veins. |

I think my car interest started when I was really little. My grandpa never really did a lot of car modding but he did work on them (motor work, mufflers, things like that). I always loved the smell of his garage, the mixture of gas, grease, and the smells that come with cars. Once I got my Cavalier he started showing me how to change brake pads and oil, even though I still haven't done any of those things by myself yet. I think he liked my interest in cars because his only son (my dad) was more of a rocker, writer type who only worked on the cars when he had to. Then I got the tC and it was way more easily moddable then the Cavalier. Everytime I do something to it I take it to show grandpa. I think he gets a kick out of it! Funning thing is grandpa has had a 55 Mercury Holiday sitting in the garage for years, stripped down and all, waiting to be repainted. He acts like he doesn't have the money to do it but grandma tells me that's a lie. If I ever win the lottery, the first thing I'm going to do is to buy that man a paint job! 07 Black Sand Pearl, the prettiest thing in the trailer park. ![]() ![]() |

i grew up building muscle cars, and doing body work. by the time i was in high school i was building custom car stereos for people at my school. I have always loved cars any make any model. you can do so much to a car. the possibilities are endless. I am also the type of person that tries to prove others wrong when they say hey you can't do that to that type of car. Custom body work and audio systems are my specialty. |

I have always been into cars. I started building 1/25 scale plastic models when I was 5 and I have been hooked ever since. I have owned and restored all kinds of cars, mostly Japanese I must admit, with a couple of USA and German cars thrown into the mix. Currently we have 2 Japanese cars, my Tc and my wife's Acura MDX. I currently have no restoration programs going (wife will not allow at this time! LOL!) |

Where to begin...it all started with my dad, ever since I can remember he would take me to the drag strip and we would watch the cars run and he would name them all off and introduce me to the drivers I new. Then came Summit Point which im sure most the people in Maryland will know of. Thats what had me sold., at noon there were drivers that would take you out onto the track and do some hot laps with you in the car with them. I climbed into an A/C Cobra Kit with the Ford 427 like the originals had. We came around the corner onto the front stretch and he said are you ready and I said yeah and he nailed it, I remember watching my dad flash by my view as he stood in the pits watching me and he had a smile on his face and I realised then that I had an ear to ear grin on my face too. We did 147 down the stretch before entering the hairpin turn. I was 8 years old and my dad swears it took a week to wipe the smile off my face after that. My dad then bought a 61 corvette that we restored to origional specs, it was ermine white, silver coves and fire engine red interior. We had some nebighors that moved in next to us the following year that were really into miata,s thats what got me into the tuner scene. My dad fell in love with the miatas and wanted to build a monster. We would up buying a 91, doing the 1.8L motor swap and re-working the motor and turbo'd it, re-did the suspension put a 5 speed close ratio racing tranny in it,Hard Dog roll bar, and the outcome was the 300 whp monster we still play with to this day. ![]() |

Um....actually NFS:Underground. I know that sounds lame, but seriously. I had a 03 Blazer 2dr and i was workin on getting it lifted and all hicked out, but with some unfortunate events the truck got flooded out and $12k to trade it in. After playin that game i really got interested in the "tuner cars" and ended up gettin a Mazda 6 and a few years later traded that in for my bomb ass tC. I'm still waiting to win the lottery so i can buy my GTR Skyline and Supra TT, til then i'm more than happy pimpin out the tC. Long live the MOONPIE! |

Ok so this is kind of mean but it is the truth. I was with my Dad and we had taking a load of green waste to the dump. He had a 73 chevy pickup 355ci 4bb and a 400trans. A guy had tried to pass us and my dad didn't see him, and went on the guy was driving a newer dodge ram he was tailgating us and honking his horn. At the exit, where the gravel is on the black top he pushed it to the floor (spraying gravel all over the guys truck, I think it broke his windshield) the truck pushed back in my seat and I think I fell in love. I have a 73 chevy pickup (stepside) 307ci with 4bb 350trams (B&M) headers and cherry-bombs, it is starting to rust away cause I don't have the money or the time to work on it. ![]() Mac and iPhone/iPod help! |

My grandpa and uncle got me into cars. They both raced at the local dirt track and were forever working on their cars. Everyday after school my grandpa would pick me up and take me to the shop. Since then I've always been interested. It got worse when I got my '87 Mustang GT. That is where the real fun started. For awhile I didn't have anything I wanted to mess with until I got the tC. I've been on a mission since May! |

all my life instead of playing w/ dolls i loved it when my dad would drive fast, used to play w/ his tools and i never really cared much for girlie things. Growing up and becoming an engineer i started falling more and more in love w/ cars. My dad put me behind the wheel first when i was 5 yrs old!! Sitting on his lap and driving while he had his foot on the gas pedal i just wanted to learn to drive. when i got my license first car i got was the 1998 Infiniti I30 and i loved that car to no end. I used to race it all the time and became more and more obssessed w/ cars. When i got the scion i didnt think i would be into doing any mods i just thought i was gonna get tints. But this site changed all that!!! =] IM CAR OBSSESSED!!!! ![]() http://www.itsmyscion.com/armygirl718 http://www.myspace.com/navsegdamaskva |

Ive liked cars ever since i was about 10 . I started out as a Honda guy and then right before i bought the tC i had a 94 Eagle Talon TSI AWD Turbo that ran a 12 sec flat on the 1/4 mile . I rolled that car end over end street racing against an 05 civic si and from then on i will never race again so now im just into modifying for looks . Heres how my car ended up looking after i rolled it . You can see why im lucky to be alive and why i dont race anymore . ![]() |

No one ever really got me into cars. I just know for as long as I can remember I have always liked them and had an interest in them. All kinds of cars. Classics to Newer ones. Trucks, SUV's, Cars, whatever. My dream is to be able to open up a shop to modify and fix up new cars and also to bring the life back to antique cars and then sell them. Do like the Barrett Jackson thing. But make it so much more fun and interesting. I ususally get a new car every 6 months to a yeat because I like them so much. But i dunno, I am really luvin my 08 Scion tC right now. I think I am going to hold onto it for a little while. The next vehicle I plan on getting is a Chevy Avalanche. I had one before but it was getting old and racking up miles. So I want a 06-07 one next. I love my car but I do miss being big and in charge too. And taking it off roading when there is 2 much traffic =)[b] |
