Well, as most of you know, I work at a BMW dealership as a Service Writer and also have Porsche and Audi in the same parking lot. We deal with all 3 but 99% of the time I'm BMW. Well, I went back to parts today and overheard people talking about repair parts on a GT3. Come to find out, their brake rotors are 5000$ a piece!

Brake pads are 400$ per set. That's all I got so far but....that should be enough to let you know how expensive that 120K car really is when it comes to repairs.

EACH!....that's what we all said and just laughed. But, you have to pay to play and with that car....you REALLY play.

Just had one in the shop today getting some work done. All white just like the picture and sounded amazing. The one guy asking for the rotors has the turboed version GT3....straight track style.

It's only rated at 9 and 15 for mpg anyways...haha.

But they are beasts when they come in here. The E46 style M3s and GT3s are the best cars we get in here by far.

When you have the money to buy that car in the first place you probably aren't really sweating maintenance. But that is really ridiculous.

5 freakin' thousand dollars each? Holy crap! A set of four costs more than my car!

So what do these babies have in em that makes em worth so much? And follow up question: You get these at a discount?

I was thinking the same thing.. my friend worked at our local ferrari dealership for awhile.. the owner of the place had an enzo that he let just sit for a couple years, didn't start it, didnt touch it.. to get a tune-up to run again was $12k.. to him it was pennies (he owns several ferrari's and quite a few dealerships here)

Hey web, get any GT3 RS's your way? If you find one that's one of those fluorescent marker colors take pics. I love those things, essentially a street legal race car. Oh yeah when you mentioned the turboed version of the gt3, I think that's the gt2? But they havent started selling that yet, i heard they're lapping similar times to carrera gt's on nurburg though.

Yeah, it's the GT2 that's turbo and the GT3 is N/A but lighter and almost identical in power/speed/times.

We had one black GT3 come up and it was beyond GT specs for racing. It was amazing and sounded like an F1. The guy was taking it out for a spin about 3 weeks ago and brought it by to show it off. I never took a pic though ....I will next time.

it's a shame that those cars will never really reach top speeds here in the USA... Plus if you can afford one, then the maintance cost is going to be nothing for you...plus can you say warranty...

i would give my left nut for one of those.

Car is being put on hold until further notice. Work will continue pending on if i get the new toy i want or not. I will keep you all posted.

UPDATE ON THE TUNE. It went ok but a few little issues that are causing my performance to be less than expected have shown themselves. Now I have to resolve them when I get the chance and it will be back to PTuning for the finishing touches.

You think 5000 for brake rotors is bad?? The 2 square feet of center carbon fiber piece on the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is 4,000 bucks!!!

The carbon fiber spoiler is 7,200 just to buy! Probably 3000 to install.
