Whats the average everyone gets a gallon with an intake?

We have a thread on mgp here.

But anyway, I have an Injen CAI (other than that Im pretty stock) and I get a consistant 27mpg highway and 22-26 mpg city.

An intake really isn't a significant increase in mpg, haha.

That's 90% highway....I do all highway for work but the 10% I'm in the city, I still don't drop below 28 (and that's the lowest). Chevron/Texaco gas is key

Chevron gas x2! I however do go to stinkers here because they offer 94 octane!

Don't fall for the octane crap. 86 is set to burn optimally with our 9.6:1 compression. Higher octane requires higher compression or FI and if you don't have it, your timing will be retarded (b/c higher octane combusts at higher temperature thus, higher stroke) and you will see decreased output.

86 for an N/A tC is the ONLY thing you should use unless you feel knocking, then switch to 89 but no higher.

No I use Chevron 95% of the time. I go to stinkers and run their higher octane about every 5,000 miles just as almost a cleaner

All gas has the same detergent in it. Running higher octane doesn't make it clean better.

edit: i don't mean different brands, just different octane levels.

A grounding kit can potentially help w/ gas mileage as well.

That's the misconception...higher octane will not "clean" the combustion chamber. It will only retard the timing and cause you to burn "harsher" and cause more deposits. If the timing is retarder, and let's say it doesn't retard enough, that uncombusted fuel will be left in the chamber just caked on the piston and cylinder walls. Chevron has techron in it and is one of the best cleaners you can possibly use. Just a heads up

cheaper fuels use "cheapo" detergents (not always, but in most cases)

if you go to a bargain gas station be prepared for low quality economy and possibly a little moisture in your tank

my picks for fuel are

BP, Chevron, Shell, Quik Trip

shell is the only common one of those four you find around here.

Is there anyway to get our mpg to 35?

I do a lot of highway miles and am getting 28- 30 mpg after every fill up.

if you're a miracle worker or Web, you can get to 32 mpg

35 is not possible unless you could defeat the laws of physics entirely

I get a solid 30-31 mpg highway at best

HAHA, i just do the 3000-3500 rpm shift and if possible, just skip gears and right higher gears at lower rpms. Lower rpms will use less fuel

HAHA yeah right.

hmm, I do that in city driving but usually on the highway, once it's up to 5th I just set the cruise control... but unfortunately, 85 cruises at high RPM's

edit: sorry for thread jack!

but back to the original matter at hand, an intake will not offer a significant change in fuel economy
