Could be beasue of the oil in the filter. take out the maf sensor, clean it with maf cleaner, then reinstall it. If that dosnt work , then you may have somehow damaged the maf and have to replace it ( in which cost more than the intake )

either way, get the code checked at the dealer, or an autoparts store

The same thing happened to me when I installed my Injen CAI. Try disconnecting your battery for 5-10 mins and then reconnect it. Reset your windows and drive easy for the next ~100 miles.

If you CEL doesn't come on, you should be golden. If it does, take it to the dealer or autozone.

edit: I would do this before fiddling with your MAF.

When you installed it did you un-hook the battery? If not it means you did not reset your ECU, so your car is thinking it still has the stock filter on thus Check engine light is on. You can try that to reset the ECU if you don't want to lose your Trip Meter.

repeat the process... and if that doesnt work... go to kragen or autozone and borrow an obd2 reader... that should tell you why your CEL is on then you can go from there...

You need to let the car idle for 5 minutes to get use to the changes, you also need to drive it easy for the next 50 miles.

you car has to learn your new modification, you cant just bolt it on , and then rev it to 6k, then go race.

Your car wont respond to well to it.

After installation did you turn the car on and it shut off within two seconds. It does this so the ECU can adjust to the new airflow. Mine did and then it was golden on the second startup. If that didn't happen to you I would say definitely disconnect the battery for a bit and try again.

Actually, it is recommended to disconnect your battery for 5 min after installation, for this problem.

-Thanks for the sig Aciidsneaker

Hope it works out had the same thing that RoulettetC where the car turned off after 2 seconds and then started it up and worked just fine, remember to reset your windows including sunroof.

I bet you did the same thing I did and burned out your o2 sensor! It sucks. Just put your stock intake box back on. If it does not work take it to the dealership and I bet 20 bucks its your o2 sensor!

Nah, it takes more than just a little drive to burn up an O2. With an engine light coming on right after an intake install, it's just a fluctuation in exhaust flow. Backing the O2 off or bypassing it will cure this.
