I spent some time on my Scion TC stereo.I installed an Alpine 9813 this is a 27 watt RMS, 60 watt peak x4 channel. It requires a good ground and a larger then stock power wire to the battery. This is a 14.7 volt internal system that draws a lot of amps from the Scion 12Volt system. Don’t run it with stock power and ground.I used the TC mounting plate and wire adapter from Crutchfield, at first I thought the sent me the wrong plate cause the box said Xa,Xb, but inside there were instructions for the Xc, straightforward install maybe 40 minutes top including soldering and shrink wrap the actual swap took 10 minutes. Anyway the Alpine has sub RCA out, one of the reasons I decided to put this in (I ripped it out of my Jetta). For Sub I’m running a RF Punch 200 to a 10 inch MDF enclosure non ported but with fill. I running only 8 guage directly to the battery. This punch does not wake on power from RCA I needed to wire the wake wire to Alpine, forget what wire I used but it could have been antenna out or power on?rI change only the front door tweeters to MB Quarts, I don’t have the specs any more but these are over $100 on sale and they have a very high db so they are very bright even with “just?the Alpine amp.So total system now is:Alpine 240 watt HUMB Quarts tweeters door mountStock 5.25 Scion lower doorStock Scion ~6.2 woofer in behind10 inch Sub with RF Punch 200 via RCAI’m VERY happy with overall sound quality of this setup. At levels that would distort the stock setup my setup is clear. I don’t listen to really loud stuff, but at a decent crank the sound system is perfect. I highly recommend this type of HU swap.I drive around with the Fader set to +3 rear and make the back do the woofer work, as stated above the MB Quarts are very bright and have a high db so they are also very efficient. I plan to upgrade the back 6.25 to some decent Infinities, or Focals, something with a high gain to work with the relatively weak Alpine HU as I’m too lazy to wire in a second amp. I will use sound deadening that I got from Lowes (Ice and Fire roof shield) it is non tar based and cheap. I figure the doors look too hard to deaden and I never have good luck with the 5.25s. I’ll let you people know how it goes with the future upgrade when it happens. For now, I can say that the replacement of the factory HU to this second hand Alpine made a huge difference! The only draw back is the Alpine is only single disk!Any idea what a 2 week only 6 disk HU is worth Gotta pay for my Supercharger ya know.

Nice set up, I put in my old HU in this weekend and was thinking about places to put my subs. I saw on another forum that you can remove the rear seats, but I dont know how much room is there. I have 2 10- Rockford Subs that are sitting doing nothing right now. You got any pics? I would love to see where your sub is.

my sub is in a box that hits the back glass ever slightly. I-ll be looking to put one sub in each rear corner, the rear area is REALLY small to begin with so I don-t think I can raise the floor any, looks to be a corner install. I bolted the amp to my box too, so if I autoX which I plan to do I take the sub and amp out at the same time, sure there is more wire but every little bit helps on the autoX, my Jetta I has the amp bolted to the back of the seat and I needed to only remove two wires and two hold down screws to take the box out. Any ideas on Scion rear subs in the corners?

Thats what I wanted to do, but I heard the only way to get them in there is fiberglass the area. I am not that flowing with cash to pay for all that, but I wanted to put my 2 10-s where the bazooka sub goes on both sides.

Not too hard, MDF a jigsaw some black carpet. I don-t think the sub 10- will fit straight up it is going to be a complex angle. I-d make a cardboard template first. I OK with the box for now, I-m working on getting the 54.1 to 68 mm hub adapters so I can run my OZ Supperleggera and use the stock rims for autoX. I figure by summer I can cut the MDF to fit in the rear. There are also OK sounding 8- subs, at least for me, ya know I listen to Charlotte Church and Shania Twain, not like they got much bump. LOLOne of the reasons to go for my own suff from the Jetta is to save money as well as get way better sound. It is like $400 for the OEM sub and wire! sure it is an OK system but my setup: Box, sub, amp, cable probably cost me $250.00 as I got everything second hand but the sub for my last car, so street value today is say $150.00 or less and a 10- with RF 200 amp got WAY more bump vs stock, but yes trunk space is a problem hence the need for a jig saw and MDF. Sure I-d like somebody to fiber me in something, but $$$$
