What should I buy, just a TRD rear sway bar or a Hotchkis front and rear sway bar set. Is the Hotchkis set up worth the extra cost? Will I really feel a difference swapping out the FRONT sway bar? Will this set up make my car handle like a go-cart? Really any opinions would be great.

you really just need a rear sway bar.

the extra cost of trying to deal with installing the front sway bar isn't worth it to most people.

agreed...basically a front sway bar isnt needed on FWD cars if you just plan on streetin it..if you have racing in mind..then you might want to consider it..

Hotchkis is the best choice over all for a complete setup, but just as mentioned above, front sway is not really needed

if you don't mind spending the extra money & time, go with Hotchkis

if you want a very effective rear sway (alone) go TRD

I have been looking all over for the thickness of the TRD sway bar. Cant find it.

But the Hotchkis one is 27mm thick. Comparing the thickness might help compare the difference in the ride.

But good question, Id like to know how the Hotchkis sway bar stacks up against the TRD one. In objective judgement of course, haha.

the Hotchkis is much thicker, but it's sold as a set and it's also much more expensive...

the TRD rear sway is 22mm in diameter vs Hotchkis with 27mm

Hotchkis costs twice as much as the TRD on it's own, but it also has the highest amount of stiffness and is sold as a set

for basic street and daily driving, TRD would be a fine choice

if you want the most stiffness and performance go with the Hotchkis full set

^^^ Agreed,I have The Hotchkis Springs And Sways And Trust Me You Feel The Difference,Best Setting I'd Say Is Front At Medium And Rear At Tightest For Best Handling

Hotchkis FTW

If you want to have track ready handling and still stay street ready, go with the TRD.

The Hotchis is a great setup, but unless you are dedicated to the track, that youd go after it

if you're looking towards TRD..

take a look at Progress... it adds one more level of adjustability over the TRD, along with coming with new endlinks...

the TRD rear sway bar is basically the same design as Progress's... and also Toyota's choice in their pro/celeb tCs.

the pro/celeb tCs use Progress rear sways as well as their coilovers.

i would take my hotchkis setup against anyone with a single trd sway bar. that's how confident i am in them. the front stability is soo much better than stock. i have pics to compare the stock sway bar to the hotchkis if anyone wants to see just pm. the hotchkis keeps the car flatter on turn in and also minimizes that dive and floaty feeling.

I'm looking into just a rear sway bar and I'm considering either the TRD or the Progress. How thick are the Progress Tech bars? :o
