I scanned through this to see if this idea had been mentioned, and did not see it. If it has been mentioned I apologize and feel free to lock thread.

I always found that the ability to review sent messages to be useful. Items can be copied and pasted from them, records of communication when dealing with sales, etc.

This is built in already to the new private messaging system, so you'll see old messages you have sent on the new site. You can also see whether or not a message you sent has been read by its recipient.

Messages that you delete and a recipient deletes are archived on the site for several months before truly being deleted. So if you delete a message and want to go back and get it, you have the ability to

Also, email notifications are more verbose for messages. When you get a message, an email is sent to you explaining which user sent you the message, and the subject of the message. A link is also included to view the message immediately to save time.

I'll probably do more with the private messaging system shortly after its launched. It's certainly better than our current system.

Good point, because unless the person you messaged leaves your quoted message in there reply, there is no way to see it. I am not one of those people to leaves the quote in the message. I like it fresh.
