WOW! Have I been busy lately! Besides starting a new semester and working rediculous hours the entire summer, i've got some nasty little mods going onto the beast.

Right now im pushing about 190whp with an Intake, injectors, Tune, Header, Downpipe, Exhaust.

So far this summer my more notable kills are as follows:

06 Civic SI (intake/exhaust)
99 Eclips GS-T (intake exhaust downpipe)
06 Mustang (exhaust)

So as far as naturally aspirated four bangers go, my car is responding pretty well to its mods. (2.4L ecotec vvt)

However recently I was able to scoop up an unbelievable deal on some parts.

Here we goes:

• Eaton M62 Supercharger
• Lower Intake Manifold
• 42# Injectors w/ Harness
• Bosch Intercooler Pump
• 3.0" Supercharger pulley
• GM Stage 2 Belt
• 3-Gauge Pillar
• Oversized Idler (3.0”)
• Intercooler Surge Tank
• Stock SS/SC Alternator
• Boost Gauge
• 2-Bar Map Sensor
• Extended Radiator Hose
• Mustang Cobra Heat Exchanger
• Additional Idler pulley and Bracket
• IC Pump Brackets, fittings, piping
• Supercharger Compatible Intake
• Gaskets
• A/F Gauge
• Interceptor Gauge
• Colder Spark Plugs
• Custom Tune

all of this I was able to pick up for just over two grand. A similar swap (larger pulley, smaller injectors) of this kind has been done once before, netting about 230whp/220wtq without exhaust modifications and running only 7psi of boost.

I plan to run a smaller pulley, larger fuel injectors, and 10psi of boost. Not to mention my car is already fitted with a full exhaust system. I'm hoping for numbers around 250whp/250wtq at least. I have a solid motor mount and have replaced both the front and rear transmission mounts with prothane inserts. Wheel Hop should not be a problem and i'm hoping to run mid 13's.

The largest issue here is cooling mods. The compression ratio of the 2.4L cobalt is 10.5:1 therefore its not really ideal to handle large amounts of boost. I've got a front mount heat exchanger going in and most likely i'll be running a dual pass intercooler.

I also have some concerns about my clutch. Expecting over 100wtq more than stock, it's doubtful my clutch will be able to withstand the huge torque load, however i'm praying it will hold up to the abuse.

Not much has been done with the 2.2/2.4 cobalt because of tuning limitations and the lack of aftermarket support, so im kinda pioneering the way on this.

All of this will be installed and fine tuned within the next month, i'll be sure to keep you guys updated with the progress.

It'll be nice to c it and hear it.

Just buy some new pistons to lower the compression and go for more boost, FTW!!!

well if i boost more than 15psi i'll be out of the efficiency range of the blower. also the intake manifold is not the greatest designed, there are some issues with cylinder four based on the design. so i'll have to invest in a custom intake manifold before i decide to do any piston work.

Edited because I am an idiot

My car isn't the fastest car out there, but I'll tell ya....

Sometimes I haul more ass than a pimp driving a caddy full of hoes.

Lol I was curious as to how you were getting the Eaton SC mounted in the tC I figured some serious fabrication was in order, then figured with removal of the AC and Washer fluid resevoir, it could be done....then I looked at your profile and saw that you had a cobalt ss

gotcha haha. yeah, its not going to require much modification. Just gotta relocate the washer fluid

Don't drop below a 2.8 and you'll be fine with piston #4. Are you going with HPTuners for the custom tune?

I thought that parts list looked a tad familiar.....

Ahhh, a 2.4L. Does HPT even have support for that ECU? That would be too bad if it doesn't, it's the best tuning platform out for these cars right now.

Still reading back and editing post, sorry.

Anyhow, are you going anyway from the IC cores? That is actually a really efficeint system, I wouldn't recommend ditching it for an air-to-air system. Also, how are you going to tune it now? They don't have HPT support IIRC.

Finally, don['t go below the 3.0 with 42.5's on there. The injector duty cycle is too high and that will cause a cyl. #4 issue. I've got to get back to work under my hood one of these days and finish my setup....

No, i will be sticking with the stock core setup. I will be using HPT, the 2.4 ECU does support HPT, the 2.2 ECU does not. Im running a 3.0" on the 42's probably wont be going any smaller. i want to keep the blower in its efficency range, and also i dont want to be boosting too high because of my compression ratio. I'll have enough heat as it is.
