you have a stick or automatic?

there's different thread sizes for each.. looks as the knob is setup for a manual.

auto 8x1.25
manual 12x1.25

That's a bummer. There's always selling it and getting a shift knob that does fit.

just convert it to make it fit, I'm sure it can be done, that shift knob looks pretty darn sharp

Okay, here's what I ended up having to do. The adapters that came with the new knob didn't quite work out by themselves. So, I used the largest provided adapter and I went to True Value Hardware and bought a bolt coupler and together it all worked just perfectly!

The bolt coupler

The new knob

The completed project

Keep in mind this was a kit that was supposed to be for a manual shift knob. You just have to get the correct thread on the bolt coupler (8mm) rather than an inch thread (it's close but not quite right) and it'll screw right onto the shifter shaft.

Good luck!

I walked in and out of the store about 5 times before I got the right coupler. The kid kept trying to give me a coupler in "US inches" and I eventually got him to go away so I could dig thru "the rest of the world mm" bin and finally found the 8mm coupler.

If I could find one then that means they exist! I'm not sure what types of hardware stores you have where you are but I got mine at a True Value Hardware.

That explains why he gave it to you for free. I ordered the obx speed star off the internet and they sent me the one you have. I sent it right back. I hated it so much.

Don't sell yourself short! Necessity is the mother of invention. And that's why we belong to sites like this - so we don't have to reinvent the wheel. Just think to yourself, "Hmm, what would MacGyver do?"

Jen that 0BX knob is official.. Do what you can first to put it on your car.. then if it still doesnt work out, try to sell it. Try going to WIRED on RT 1&9... they'll prolly put it on for you & adjust whatever needs to be put on in order to fit.

so its loose right?

u know what u can do... this is a long shot but maybe i'll work.. u know that white tape you put around the pipe of your shower head ? so the water doesnt leak from the sides? i forgot what its called. but if you put some of that on the shift stick then try seeing if the knob fits snugg like that.

yea but the white stuff can come off though.. its stringy after u place it on.. so u can just easily take it off.. it serves the purpse of not having it wobble.
