If you ever wondered what the DSP curves look like check this out. I connected an RTA (Real Time Analyzer) directly to the outputs of the OEM deck. The volume is set at 60 and all tone controls are flat. There is a disk with -Pink Noise- (sounds like static) playing. The far left of the display is labeled 25Hz and the far right is 20KHz. Each dot represnts 1/3 octave. There is a line through the center of the screen (horizontal) that represents 0 dB. Dots above this line are boosted and dots below are cut. This is the electrical output of the deck and not the acoustic response of the system. Ideally, you would want the deck to be electrically flat (like an aftermarket deck would be). It would be great to be able to keep the OEM deck with it-s balanced outputs, high voltage swing, aux input, SAT ready, MP3 ready, great integration with the dash and get rid of the EQ curves. Neutral Hear Feel

Very interesting. I-d be curious as to what the different vehicle settings look like on there as well. Good post.

I have them all, but my computer seems to have a real problems with this forum. I have them posted on others ( I use the same screen name on all of them). It-s also annoying that everytime I post something here, somone edits it..like the name of this thread. If I wanted to name it -SSP Curves- I would have named it that. I wanted to show DSP curves. -SSP- is what they chose to call the DSP (Digital Signal Processing) they could have called it -Bob- and it would still be DSP.

Good post JLTD. Are you able to get the curves for the different cars as well? The xA,xB,and tC settings? I usually set mine on nuetral/tC then I control the EQ settings thru an Audio Control EQS. The problems is I haven-t been able to get my hands on an RTA to find out if it-s really neutral or not. I see now that -neutral- is far from neutral. Thanks!-Mark

im pretty sure that the xA, xB and tC changes the gain to specific channels (L or R, F or B) so that the signal going to that particular channel matches the size of the speaker for optimal sound. But thats just my theory....and I-m usually right ;)
