Master Mechanic

I'll leave the newer car-related movies to da' whippersnappers.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Year: 1968

DVD Release.

Director: Ken Hughes

Remember all those crappy movies of the 60's & 70's you had to suffer through during the 80's?

FLASHBACK!

God I hated this movie, I hate Dick Van Dyke. He reminds me of the creepy nextdoor neighbor that you would not let your baby sister near.

Compare for yourself:

Old Classic Dick Van Dyke:

Dick Van Dyke As A Young Man:

I've just found Mister D.V.D. to be plain hokey and boring. The same can be said about this movie.

It's set in jolly old England, pre-zombie era, so that explains why the driver's wheel is on the wrong side of the car. And I thought the manufacturers just messed up when looking at my Mattel model of said vehicle. Go Hot Wheels!

Basically the car was once a prize winning scion TC (pun) that was owned by a German Baron and Hitler sympathizer, but now retired to a junkyard. Salvaged from the junkyard by Van Dyke, it soon comes to life...

WAIT this sounds like CHRISTINE????!???!! :Gasp:

The German baron wants his car back and chases Van Dyke and his family/friends around for the duration of the movie. Along the way, we get to see the car float, fly, and wipe itself after using the toilet.

Side-splitting hilarity and rip-roaring songs ensue. Or so thats what the Harvard educated elitists pampering thier bubbleworld suburbanite kids claim.....

And since it's a kid's movie: OMG WILL THE HEROES DIE???? Probably not...

Herbie was better.

Grade: C- (possibly D, for inciting a revolt amongst ages 10 and older for making them watch such a lame movie)

COME SEE THE OTHER UGLY FLYING CAR!

Married with children...
