OK so i just installed my Injen Axle Back.. Sounds really nice, Actual sounds like a junior version of an STi or something.

so im driving it and my friend is like FLOOR IT. so i do and at first the exhaust is going but then it cuts off and all i hear is the engine going and no exhaust.. whats going on? is it cuz its not a full catback?

Did your exhaust fall off? I'm confused.

haha, oh.

Well, it depends on the exhaust output at certain rpms also. Mine goes silent at 65 (well, it sounds stock) and then opens up again around 70 and above. It may have hit a deadening "point" in the exhaust output where all of the soundwaves cancelled each other out. Pretty rare I'd say.

if i got a midpipe and Spipe would it make it so the sound is always there or what?

probably beacause it will let more air flow through. but it all depends on WHY it got canceled out.

no my man it wouldn't...truth is your problem has nothing to do with your exhaust setup and everything to do with your engine and how it revs, reacts and is tuned according to your setup...if you were to add to your exhaust setup(headers, mid or s-pipe), you'd probably just get rasp...essentially you'd probably need to go 5-speed to rid youself from that deadening point..injen has been known to be pretty quiet though, ask rrimport(allen), he had it for a while...

^^^^Lmao, The Reason U Dont Hear The Exhaust Is Because The Engine Starts To Rev Really Loud Over 4500 RPms That It Covers The Exhaust It Doesnt Cut Off.....I Have It So I Know and Plus U Just Installed It U Gotta Give It A Little Time To Break In

It might also be like an intake where the sound is just higher at certain rpm/throttle combinations.

Orin
the exhaust doesn't go silent , but the sound from your intake and engine take over the exhaust tone when you reach a higher rpm.

the exception would be the exhausts tuned for raspy noise, but I doubt you want to sound like an angry mosquito
