I read some posts about this a while ago, factory top speed is 127 I think, that's what most people are hitting. I got higher the other day though. I went out to Penn State, booked it most of the way out there. For those of you who are familiar with the area, I was out on 322 before Lewistown; awesome highways nicely paved huge rolling hills and endless straight-a-ways. Anywho, I was on a huge straight part at about 120 with the all the windows down. I was going too fast for the windows to go up so I down-shifted into 4th back down to about 100mph, put them up and floored it, put it in 5th and before I knew it I was at 132mph at around 5350 rpm's and it didn't even cut me out. I was gonna push it harder but I picked up KA band on my radar detector and slammed on my brakes.(cop in the bushes) After I passed him I didn't have the balls to do it again. So anyway has anyone else gotten up there? I think that was probably about as good as I was gonna get, my car was SCREAMING going that fast. Literally took a chunk out of my gas I was like damn. My car is bone stock, 3,500 miles on it. What do you guys think, a fluke?

On a straight, flat surface, the ECU cuts off at 127 so wind resistance will become the largest factor and begin to slow you down almost immediately.

If you're on any sort of a downslope, the faster you go, the more momentum you will have at the shut off point. So, downhill, it's possible for the speedo to read 132, but the ECU will have cut out at 127.

Haven't touched anything. It was a SLIGHT slope, like barely. I know I saw right cause I was like how the hell is that possible, I held it for like 15 seconds making sure I read the tachometer right before I picked up the state trooper. Interesting thought about the needles though.....maybe I should pass a speed clocking tower on cruise control to make sure it's right. Hmm.

Now I'm nervous that my car is f**d up. Dammit. I was along side a mountain so I didn't have any crosswinds either. I'm going out again in 2 weeks, I better bring a camera. I'm not trying to argue with you guys, you know way more than I do but I know what these eyes saw. Now I feel like going on 95 to what I can get.

Any sort of a slope is going to help out as your speed increases. Your momentum increases with every inch you cruise at a higher speed.

Cross winds WILL slow you down, but the main wind is HEAD WIND. But, that slight slope probably helped out a bit cutting under the "bubble" of air for just a bit.

I can accept that explanation. I was pretty bad-ass to see the needle on that speed though haha. I was like now that's awesome.

I know, I know. But hey just because I unplugged my seatbelt light and alarm doesn't mean I don't wear it!

why did you unplug your seatbelt alarm? wouldn't it be easier to turn it off. Well guess your lucky the cops didn't get you. Don't really have much to say about the whole speeding on the road thing.

So that when I drive down to my mailbox I don't have to listen to it go off the entire time.

it will turn off after like 5 seconds of beeping. you can also turn off the beeping with one of the "chicken dance" things. check it out here http://www.clubsciontc.co..._id=1393&page=1#74870

edit: i can't get the code to work so i'll just post it as a URL
