Well, as you have it, there are obviously a few members who are getting a bit tired of some of the low and non-car content related threads, as well as discussions regarding illegal and immoral activities.

I have created this thread to have a mature and professional discussion surrounding forum etiquette, the focus of the forums and the content posted within, etc. It seems that its becoming a bit like the generic forum where you can post anything you want, instead of a forum that has a primary topic of discussion (you know, like Scion tCs).

I would like EVERYONE to get involved with this thread and discuss rules they want set in stone, content they don't want to deal with, etc.

Before posting any rules that I have in mind, I want YOU all to start the discussion. If there isn't any decent discussion, then I will most likely just create the rules without any further feedback, and you guys won't really like what I come up with. This forum is for YOU, not just me and select few others. However, we need to remember that we like it when new members join the site, and we want to KEEP them here. We certainly don't want to scare people off, do we?

This thread is about rules that you want deployed on clubsciontc.com. Not only just the forums, but it can be other places (like pms and profiles as well).

When a majority of people agree to a rule (that I am at least impartial too), I will tack it on to an official forums rule list which will be displayed near the top of the site as well as near that search input box in some fancy color. This way, any user can easily find the rules.

DO NOT DERAIL THIS THREAD.

PS. I love you all. In a platonic way, of course.

Hello guys I am new here and am looking for friends

i would start off with shutting down the coffee house(its where the drama begins)or maybe we can find another name for it but restrict it with certain things to post....im kinda hoping this site will get better and stop losing all the good ppl.

i think its alright that there are some off topic threads but the extent some of the threads are taking to are a little too far... and im also noticing people asking the same questions! constructive criticism is good but flaming on others is not ok... these forums should have nothing negative directed at someone personally! its ok to joke around and all that... but this is a CAR forum! i feel like this is turning into myspace or something! maybe we should not have any pics of ourselves? so that guys wont get on the girls? i dunno... i love this site but i think it needs to be more car related...

true this isn't myspace but flirting is going to happen but thats what the PM is for not the forums. i feel if ur going to flirt with someone either do it in the PM's or use messenger not in the forums though. i dont know if we should get rid of the coffee house cause it is nice to talk about things other than cars everynow and then but if going to happen thats what the coffee house is for and maybe that should be made clear that its the only forum for open posts.

I agree with everything mentioned so far... a few things have just gotten out of hand... it's become less of a car forum and more of a chat.

It's nice to socialize and be friends, but I think this should be all about the cars priority #1

that may mean cutting away coffee house, mature lounge ...

everyone should really pay attention to this thread, now is the time to fix what you don't like.. this site is for all of us..

well ur car should be done as a reflection of urself so i mean to show urself on here kind helps people understand y u did certain things to ur car. but to me dont really matter about that i dont care about pics of myself mine on there just cause i didn't have any car pics yet cause i have been out of the country for a year. whatever rule is made about the pic doesn't really matter to me.

I don't really think that's a big deal, but that's probably because i don't have any of myself up. it would probably help out with the flirting problem

yes, the main distraction has been coffee house posts about anything

I agree with Tomlin, coffee house should get the boot.

I've seen too many posts meant to draw attention toward an individual rather than a car.

yayyy my suggestion has been supported. im gratful
i say its just so hard to make a thing to be perfect.
a car forum is like a small country, differnt kinds of ppl live on it and surf on it. we cant just get rid of something in able to make things better. we can only adjust and modify to make it nearly perfect. im personally here would like to say Thank you to everyone here b/c of you all this car forum has been on for years. Despite the bad posts and immature argument, we're still growing big and this is why we live and learn. Also, i said this before i think we cant just blame these ppl for being immature, rude or off-topic chat b/c its the way they're at this moment, they put things in the way they think its right and they're still learning too. we can talk to them but not cuss or critism them b/c this will just make them angry and also make the forum looks bad. Last thing i would like to mention about myself ... i'm 19 and i still think im an immature kid in case of anyone here would like to yell at me "wtf do i think i am" im only here to be peaceful with y'all and making suggestion deeply from my heart. thats it. just that simple.

i think we should keep the coffee house for off topic stuff but have it not sure up on the recent posts on the main page and such. that way if people what to talk, they can without it being too much of a distraction

for the most part, i agree the site has definitly started to move towards topics that arent truly car related....

i think that one of the problems is...the mature/coffe house topics are the topics that are continuously on the most recent threads...therefore users sign in and see that first...its hard to decipher between a useful CAR thread...and a thread that is nonsense......

i think it would help if mature/coffee house topics are left off the most recent list...if users truly want to read about that they can search for it.....
