Orin Reg'd: Dec 08, 2005	Since the badge system has been put into place, things have been pretty fun and we'd all like to keep it that way. I'd like to shed a little light on the meaning of the badges and perhaps some understanding as to how and why they are awarded. The meaning of this system isn't to show off or about being a know it all in one particular field. The idea is to identify users that not only have a general understanding of that particular field of knowledge, but also being counted on to provide help to those that need assistance in a positive manner at all times. When a user clicks on one type of badge, they can see other users that have the same type of badge and can turn to those users for help via PM or on forums. It's recognition for being a constant contributor and overall positive individual on our forums. This behavior is recognized not only by Administrators and Moderators, but by your clubsciontc.com peers as well. Badges are awarded by not one person but by a group of moderators as a whole. below are some guidelines and behavior expectations regarding badges: 1. please do not PM or AIM moderators or admin about badges, you cannot earn badges simply by asking for them. 2. do not create threads with the purpose of drawing attention at how knowledgeable you are for a badge. suspected threads of this type will be deleted. 3. keep in mind that one person doesn't decided badges, it's moderators as a whole. please do not pester one person for a badge let's keep things fun, the badges are meant to be fun and useful

Actually, new badges hadn't been assigned in a very long time (with the exception of those automatically assigned by the site) SqMK is in the process of re-working badges to be totally car related. Once new forums are done we should start seem those new badges along with a LOT of other "neato" stuff.
